Well I think Trump used that term in a figurative sense rather than a literal one. Putin is a “genius” enough to not have tried to pull this off when Trump was in office. He waited for corrupt criminal Joe Bidet.

I don’t know if he really said that Putin was a genius, maybe it’s just anti-Trump rhetoric, but if so, you have to analyze the context in which it was said. geniuses are not necessarily always good
