Israel can play an important role in mediation between Ukraine and Russia, Advisor to Ukraine’s defense minister Markiyan Lubkivskyi said on Friday. “Thank you so much Israel for your support,” Lubkivskyi said. “I think that your country can play a crucial role in this story. And I think that you can be a mediator to stop Putin. This is a message [Kyiv] wants to send to you.” Soon after Lubkivskyi spoke to The Jerusalem Post, Walla News reported that Bennett is pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demands to end the war and that Kyiv is upset with Israel’s stance.…. When it comes to the specifics of Putin’s demands on Ukraine, which are reported to include giving up on the Donbas, neutrality between Russia and the West, and semi-demilitarization, Lubkivskyi said he thinks that it is “too early to discuss.” “We need to be patient,” he stated. “We need to protect people at this stage. Sanctions are doing their job. Every day Russia is becoming weaker and weaker…We need to see how sanctions are progressing, and we need to decide everything based on the realistic picture….”
I thought Bennet told Ukraine to surrender.
Why should Zelensky surrender? The Russians are getting their @$$es whipped at the battlefield.
Mass deception abounds.
“Zelensky has the power ( as Vlad does) to stop the war. Perhaps Bennet realizes the damage the historic damage done to the world’s economy, the food supply, disruption, dethroning of the USD, etc…. Neither Vlad nor Zelensky deserve any support. “
Very true...and we seem to be blindly careening into an economic DISASTER due to this war. Maybe Israel saves us from ourselves?
“I thought Bennet told Ukraine to surrender.”
Nope, that would mean Russian occupation of Kiev. He told Ukraine to agree to Russia’s terms.
What’s the difference?
Maybe Bennett should agree to his enemy terms too.
Too bad Bibi isn’t in charge. But on the other hand who knows what he would have done? They’re trying to keep their northern flank secure but they wouldn’t have had to worry if Obummer hadn’t let the Ruskies get a foothold in Syria.
“What’s the difference?”
I already said so, Russian occupation of Kiev (and the rest of Ukraine). Agree to the terms, and Zelensky gets to keep his government intact, not a surrender in my book, at least by the definition of the word.
With mediators like these, who needs enemies?
“They’re trying to keep their northern flank secure but they wouldn’t have had to worry if Obummer hadn’t let the Ruskies get a foothold in Syria.”
Who’s telling you that? Israel is working with the Russians to take out the terrorists. Otherwise Israel and Russia would have been in firefights during the many times Israel went into Syria.
Zelenski has the power to stop the war. But giving in to the enemy is never a good movie.
Look at the map—looks like Russia is winning. Once Keiv Falls and Mr. Z is dead or in Poland. Putin can find a Ukraine to accept surrender to his terms. Is a bit of land—you do not control worth it? Too many have died. Not worth the carnage—over what? Ego? Vanity? Vain promises that the USA or EU will turn Ukraine into a “Paradise?” Weigh the odds—Look, old Putin will not be around forever. Live to fight another day. Surrender is honorable Total war is for losers—as it was for Hitler. Without Outside help—Ukraine is doomed.

This is beginning to feel like a Joel Rosenberg novel.
You don’t think the Ruskies are not working with the “terrorists “?
“Maybe Bennett should agree to his enemy terms too.”
Isn’t that what the West has been DEMANDING of Israel for decades, regarding the Palestinians?
Ukrainians need to way lower their expectations - after all this carnage i think they will. Especially Zelensky.
