Basically his NATO stance. If you watch the Oliver Stone movie, you’ll see that he considers deployment of nukes as credible, if Ukraine joins NATO, and I don’t believe we’ve ever said anything to contradict that.

Nobody "forces" Israel. They're big boys. They always do whatever they think is in their best interest, screw what it does to anyone else.

Xi puts China First.

I wish our rulers had a similar America First attitude. But America (and Canada, and Germany, and Britain, and much of the West) feel guilty about putting themselves first.

Much, MUCH different situation than Switzerland in any year. Pooty would have just waited for a weak US President, or for Europe to be even more dependent on Russian energy. He’s made it clear he considers all of Eastern Ukraine Russia’s.
The USSR was merely one variety of the Russian Empire. The basic system is still intact - intensifying again now, it appears.
And yet when it was the Russian Empire, the US didn’t seem to have too much trouble with it.
