Bennett advises Zelensky to surrender to Russia, Zelensky refuses

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy that he recommends Ukraine take the offer made by Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war - which includes many Ukrainian sacrifices - in a phone call on Tuesday, according to an official in Ukraine's government. According to the official, Zelenksy did not take Bennett's advice.

The source claimed that the phone call was initiated by Bennett. "If I were you, I would think about the lives of my people and take the offer," Bennett reportedly said.

Zelenksy's response was short. "I hear you," he said.

Were you alive in 1973?

Your damn right I was and at no point did Richard Nixon "save" Israel from the Russians.

It was 'shuttle diplomacy', not threats of WW3 that won the peace, and Richard Nixon had very little to do with it.

The key demand, no nukes in Ukraine...

I haven't seen any reports of that demand from Russia. Do you have a link?

Ukraine gave up their nuclear arsenal in 1994. Nobody has suggested putting nukes in Ukraine, and they don't have any.

What makes you think that. What makes you think Putin will ever let Ukrainians go?

Agree they don’t presently have any nukes. Putin, from what I can tell, is trying to keep it that way.

I don’t think he is interested in all of Ukraine geographically to be subsumed into Russia. The U.S settled for Texas joining the Union. They could have got greedy and gobbled up Mexico. Bearing in mind Texas was Mexican for awhile

This felt potentially really dangerous from Biden's strategy of imposing tough sanctions on Putin to prevent a war. Never back an Alpha Male into a corner unless you want a battle. JMHO, Biden sounded like he wanted war, not negotiation. And then there's Zelensky. Who is he serving? Ukrainians are forced to leave or die and their country is being destroyed. Who is going to pick up the pieces? It sure won't be Ukrainian citizens, who effectively he's purging from their own country. Crazy thought I had....might be best to partition Ukraine and give the pieces to those most ethnically connected to the region.

This whole thing is totally creepy. There's not one voice in the US Senate or House which will speak truth to power or to the voters and to those Ukrainian citizens and their supporters who've been so horribly manipulated.

Thanks. People tend to side with the enemy of the enemy sometimes, I never really have. I try to be more objective. But it happens.

I think he is, I think he wants all of Ukraine and then beyond. He wouldn’t stop with just Ukraine just like he didn’t stop with just Crimea.

Well have to agree to disagree. I think Putin is a calculating person. Just can’t see him pushing his luck. Prob just digest those parts of Ukraine he wants. And then sit back and let the world move on. If he is intent on getting ethnic Russians into Russia borders he might have a go elsewhere down the track. But only when the U.S is distracted by being in a conflict itself with a country somewhere or some other major distraction eg Civil War

Many Mexicans believe that Texas was not a republic before it joined the USA. They are wrong of course.

It seems to me that all Ukraine has to do is sign the Cease fire and promise to be neutral.

... and consent to being carved up like a Thanksgiving turkey.

What’s going to be left to carve up - seems to me that’s currently done and being done.

Get back to me when you meet the man, and actually see him in person. EVERYTHING we are being told is a lie.....everything.

Wow, Glad2bnuts! I had no idea that you had met Zelensky in person! When was that?

The Russia shills here talk about the right to self-determination of the Donetsk P.R. and of the Luhansk P.R. - but I suspect that Russia is going to seize the Mariupol area and, in fact, the whole coastline to the Crimea, too.

Putins creating his buffer bridge zone surrounding Ukraine and inland further than I though he’d go......and will assuredly fall Odessa as well. Odessa is the largest seaport in Ukraine. Thus his access to the Black Sea and his ports will be almost wide open.
