Facebook said Thursday that due to the invasion of Ukraine it has temporarily eased its rules regarding violent speech to allow statements like "death to Russian invaders," but not credible threats against civilians.

"As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we have temporarily made allowances for forms of political expression that would normally violate our rules like violent speech such as 'death to the Russian invaders,'" Facebook's parent company Meta said in a statement.

"We still won't allow credible calls for violence against Russian civilians," it added.

“eventually we’ll only hear the world view they want you to hear” -
Usual conservative response:
“Nothing we can do or should do, they are struggling businesses just like your local shoe repair shop. Sure they are woke, totalitarian, half-owned by China and hate American values, but we have to support struggling entrepreneurs at the Twitter-like soc-media businesses, we can’t have Mark Zuckerberg or Jack @ Twitter going hungry! America looks to them for jobs. The business of America is business, after all.” -
(End: usual conservative argument.)

Threats of violence will also be allowed against pro-lifers, Second Amendment advocates, opponents of CRT, Constitutionalists, et cetera et cetera.

I won’t even go on that POS site.

I don’t like Putin, but Facebook is not a government body
with the authority to come up with rules governing the First
Amendment.

It should be taken down for 120 days, and let them think
about it for a while.

This guy and Bill Gates are on the verge of being a Bond level
Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Not satisfied to be very wealthy, they now think they should
be controlling the planet.

I’d like to see both of them have to sit in the corner for
5-10.

I’m on neither facebook, twitter or others where I post anything. However I sometimes go there when there’s an event or special occurence I’m interested in as often people on the ground are posting photos before the press has manufactured their twisted stories.

FR is the only site I post, although on a couple of occassions I’ll engage on a youtube site if people are saying anything of interst.

That’s the way I see it also.

I hang on Instagram, but I’m interested to see what another
site looks like, that isn’t nearly 100% Conservative.

I am amazed at the wildly pro Conservative vent there. And
all the more because it is owed by Facebook.

They do take down a lot of Conservative stuff there, but
the participants on that site get angry about it.

It kind of restores my faith.

I think there’s less conservatives that use these sites overall. They’re busy with their jobs, family and living life. Demorats have a tendency to hang out on sites because they all think they’re activists who are going to change the world.

90% of GOP voters do not have a favorable view of Putinist Russia right now. The marginalized other 10% will face electoral loses in 2022 and 2024. I’d rather MAGA not be in that 10% but apparently opinions differ.
