I think the big unknown is battery life.
If the battery is down to below acceptable range at say 10 yrs, is is economical to replace it?

how long would take to amortize the expense of an EV? Not the answer to your question, but a piece I read not too long ago estimated that an EV has to hit about 100k miles before it becomes "greener" than an ICE. Prior to that it is more environmentally unfriendly.
