Russia is downwind from these nuclear facilities, so this is idiotic, if not suicidal.

Putin must be at a Hitler level of craziness.

Clearly a cynical plan to permanently put the brakes on Western Europe rebuilding nuclear reactors to move away from Russian dependence, with a typical Euro weenie frightened of any ecological harm of any sort. Germany was rich when it ran on UO²

There are other narratives regarding the Zaporizhia nuclear plant.

According to other sources (yes, the Russians) the plant had already been under Russian control for at least a day, and Ukrainian operators were still on the job, when a fire occurred - in an administration building, (which the Russians claim was intentionally set) and was contained immediately. Zelensky was on the air 20 minutes later, declaring a nuclear emergency.

So who should we believe? Both are incentivized to lie during a war. You will have to decide for yourself.

The first plant attack proved false. Just like the Snake Island, Ghost of Kiev, tank running over car etc. Why anyone believes this?

“Russia is downwind from these nuclear facilities, so this is idiotic, if not suicidal.”

Think longer term. Right now the winds in the Ukraine are running north to south. In spring, starting in roughly April they change to run east to west and remain that way for quite awhile.

Look at the dispersal pattern for Chernoybl from May of 1986 for an example.

Putin wouldn't need a nuclear launch at least initially. With some conventional explosives he could turn Western Europe( Nato) into a nuclear human no go zone by using the Ukraine as a potential giant dirty bomb. The panic and economic dislocation would be enormous. There would be some overlap back into Russia but I believe the Russians would accept it.

We are living in interesting times and the situation is spiraling out of control.

Exactly. Another hint that this is just another propaganda story by the Daily Mail. Way too over-the-top to be reasonable; you'd think they could do better than this.

Regardless of what people think of Putin and his motives,

If these folks are brothers and sisters to russians as they say, and this area is so important for food and energy to russia, which it is,

You don’t rocket attack places where nuclear power reactors are.
