I’m not convinced that Ukraine can save itself without some direct military intervention from other nations. But they are, thus far, holding out better than expected with some armament aid. The NATO powers do have tools to cripple Russia if they had the balls to use them.

That said, I am beginning to suspect Russia is having some problems we don’t fully understand. I won’t rely too heavily on the media accounts or heroics. But I can confidently say, this is not how Russia planned the invasion. They have hundreds of military aircraft in theater that have not left the ground. They have supply lines and heavy armor stalled and sitting. They are engaged in skirmishes with small arms fire everywhere. I am starting to suspect that Russia might have problems that are more than flat tires and old equipment.

If Russia doesn’t take Ukraine, somehow, or it takes a prolonged efforts with mass casualties, we will better understand what military capability Russia actually has. Has the world over estimated their capabilities?

You don’t even have the beginning of a clue, do you?

Stop watching TV.

Russia wants a buffer from the West

Also for the last 8 years, Nazis(*)
have been shelling Russian- speaking regions in the Eastern Ukraine.
Ever since the DC-inspired coup in 2014.

Putin’s had enough.

His military strategy is encirclement and cutting off of the main armed forces in the Ukraine.

The Deep State is going apesh*t because a lot of their money-laundrring, graft, human smuggling, and clandestine bioweapons labs were in the Ukraine and they don’t have backups.

And notice which side is issuing all the propaganda, from video-gamr clips passed off as live footage, to the non-martyrdom of those guys on the island, to the baldfaced lies about Russia shelling a nuclear reactor last night.

(*) the liberals are so unspeakably evil they have managed to make the very word “literally” an oxymoron

I find your post interesting. I remember seeing a graph at the beginning of this mess that showed Russia had way more of everything (jets, tanks, soldiers, etc) than Ukraine did. On paper it looked like Russia could just swoop in and take over rather quickly. But they haven’t. Why? Maybe their military capabilities aren’t as good as they want us to think. Maybe they are holding back so as to not have the casualties expected so they don’t look as bad on the world stage. I don’t know.
