The Belarusian army did not take part in the Russian "special operation" against Ukraine and does not plan to do so, said Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko, reports the Telegram channel Pool 1.

"The Belarusian army did not take part in the "special operation" and does not intend to do it," Lukashenka said and added that Belarus is protecting the state border from Brest to Mazyr on its own.

"The hybrid war that has been started against Belarus, especially the sanctions war in the economy and finance, is for a long time. They clutch us with a concrete grip. This is what President Putin and I talked about for two hours today. They holding on and won't let go until they think we are finished. You get the idea. They are pushing us into the war in Ukraine. If only we intervened now in this conflict, where we are not expected, it would be a gift for them," Lukashenko said.

President of Belarus Lukashenko has his finger to the wind and is slowly side-stepping away from Putin.

There were reports of Belarusian troops refusing orders to go the border, not believing the commanders that they would only be asked to stand guard and not enter Ukraine, and asking that the end date of their contracts be advanced

Also there are claims that partisans in Belarus disabled a train that was to move military supplies toward Ukraine.

I’m not sure about this simply because there’s to many conflicting stories and because Putin and Lukashenko lie like most people breathe.

Let’s wait and see what happens.

If you allow Putin to stage his troops and equipment in your country you are, indeed, aiding Mr Putin and will be held to account for the war crimes that are being committed! There is no half way!!!

The stupid blowhard already interfered when he let the Northern Axis invade from his country.

Either he’s a separate country or just Putin’s provincial governor. He get’s to decide.

President Putin and I talked about for two hours today

Two hours!

I'm guessing Putin asked over and over for Lukashenko to throw everything he has into Ukraine to join Putin in one big desperate push to grab Kyiv and announce a new government before Russia boils over internally and Lukashenko shucked and jived...

So he’s basically a weasel with regard to Putin. Sure looks like he’s done plenty for Putin already though.

I thought some of the Russian attack were from Belarus territory. If so, it’s hard to say they don’t want to be involved.

The US needs to enable Zelensky to seek peace.

The U.S., the E.U., and other friendly countries need to apply so much pressure to Russia as to force Putin to seek peace.

Peace through pressure. We’ve seen it work so many times in Vietnam, Panama, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Russia...
