For once this guy makes sense to a number of FReepers.
Smile...
Yes they did.
But they at least they had the immediate backdrop of thousands of innocent Americans brutally murdered, who had the face the choice on international television to burn to death or jump to their death.
Of course, people like this piece of sh*t Khamenei and millions of others like him (and even some on this forum) say those people got what they deserved.
Maybe we didn’t attack the right countries. Maybe we didn’t fight the wars the way people liked. Maybe we didn’t go in and get out when we should have.
Maybe.
But I’m not running away from it. I spent a lot of time outside Walter Reed Hospital, showing support for those men inside while the people I despise (who are all on board with people like Khamenei and regard him as an ally) had signs like “Enlist Here to Die For Halliburton”. No joke. I saw it with my own eyes outside Walter Reed.
My feelings have not changed one whit in my support for those men. We could have done it better. We could have done it shorter. But I am not, and never will be one of those who says we shouldn’t have done it at all.
I relished the fact that we were dishing it out to people who had a hand in 9/11 and other acts of terrorism, because the sight of American blood from the past 20 years was fresh in my mind, ranging from Munich, to the murders of Robert Stethem and Leon Klinghoffer, the bombing of the Beirut barracks, and on and on. I remember those people.
And I remember while we were pounding the snot out of them over in Afghanistan and Iraq, the innocent Americans being killed in terrorist attacks dropped off to zero for years.
So, other people may feel differently about this, and I respect their right to that.
But I have not changed my feelings about it, and never will, in the same way I feel about our fight in Vietnam, or Korea. I won’t change. Ever.
And I will always, ALWAYS respect, honor, and value those who went to those places on my behalf and with my approval, and who sacrificed their innocence, their youth, their health, and their lives.
Side note: My comment to you "Only partially?" was in the vein of: If ANY part was true, it is terrible.
I wasn't being a pickaninny.
LOL. Ok, thanks.
Exactly my thought.
“He’s not wrong”
*****
They were calling us the “Great Satan” in the streets of Tehran in the late 70’s. Way ahead of the curve those guys were.
Wait until Monday, #NotJoe is planning on $11 Billion to appease his handlers...The JihadJunta....
Good of this assclown to take a few minutes away from the incessant planning for Holocaust 2.0 to give us his thoughts, which appear to be those of good buddy Vlad Putin. As some have said, they are not wrong, but even so, it’s a case of pots calling kettle black.
President Trump wanted to end the cycle of endless violence but it’s going to take divine intervention to get to that goal. Every little bit helps though. I’m guessing Vlad would not have pulled this stunt if Trump was into his legitimate second term. OTOH Hunter Biden might by now be in jail where he probably belongs.
True.
