President Joe Biden will use his State of the Union address on Tuesday to say that President Vladimir Putin underestimated NATO and the way the world would rally against his invasion of Ukraine.
'Putin's war was premeditated and unprovoked. He rejected efforts at diplomacy,' he will say, according to excerpts released by the White House.

Joe Biden says Putin was not provoked. That is a false statement.
Current CIA director Mr. Burns, is a longtime US government employee, including a stint as Ambassador to Russia. Several years ago he stated that Putin and all Russians he had spoken with oppose Ukrainian entry to NATO. It was a red line that could not be crossed.
Guess what, in December 2021 Joe Biden and his team told Ukrainian President Zylensky (sp) membership in NATO would be his for the asking. The crack Biden team passed that information to the Chinese, who passed this information to Putin and Russia. Joe Biden crossed the Russian longtime red line on purpose.
Joe Biden wanted a war with Russia just like Obama wanted the Muslim Brotherhood Arab Spring War.

If the U.S. and NATO were prepared for this, why weren’t there NATO troops on that Snake Island (translated) off the coast of Romania? Obviously, with one naval ship, Ukraine couldn’t hold that island when push came to shove. Why wasn’t the island leased to the Romanian navy to keep Russia out at the first sign of invasion?
Also, I still don’t know why they couldn’t give Ukraine some decent cruise missiles to drop the Kerch straight bridge into the drink at the first sign of trouble. Considering that the Bidet Regime allowed U.S. consumers to finance Putin’s revanchist attack, Bidet’s claim is ridiculous.

I'm of the mind that Nato and EU were not so surprised about Putin entering Ukraine.....but were preparing for it for a few years and knew that Zelensky would stand...and that Biden (former Obama administration) would be in office. When considering all the troops and drills and armament that's been flowing into Nato nations bordering Russia .....and increasingly so over the past few years.....Putin has seen all this...and they knew he would.
Further the fact the G-7 kept brushing off negotiating for security agreements.....I can't say they all didn't know and were preparing for this.
Therefore what you said makes sense.
