The State Department on Monday announced it suspended operations at its embassy in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, and greenlit the voluntary departure of non-emergency members and their families from the U.S. embassy in Moscow.

Approves departures?? Like I’d wait for Brandon’s approval.
I guess they’d be subject to dismissal otherwise.
On the other hand I would think it really stupid to not get embassy personnel out of Russia before now.
I don’t know about Russia but it appeared that security at the US embassy in Ukraine (2017) was composed mostly, perhaps
entirely, of Ukrainians. I would have wanted a few more US soldiers there.
Probably safer to stay in Moscow, just due to their civil defense systems.
