EU countries will send "fighter jets" to Ukraine at Kyiv's request to help it counter the Russian air and land assault, the bloc's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said Sunday.

"We're going to provide even fighting jets. We're not talking about just ammunition....

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has told the EU "they need the kind of fighting jets that the Ukrainian army is able to operate... some member states have these kinds of planes," Borrell said.

Zelensky already issued an executive order allowing volunteer applicants from other countries into Ukrainian forces

so if some EU pilot were to decide to volunteer to join the Ukrainian armed forces, why do we care?

We the United States when Puckin started his saber rattling we should have sent 20,000 troops to the Ukraine, Puqin wouldn’t have dared cross the border...

Yea, I get that, but it depends on how much deniability we want.

Trump would have promised air support and sent forward air controllers over. Putin would have stayed put.

not members of the Ukrainian air force.

Why? The pilots could have driven to the EU locations.

BiXiden inflation could be hitting weapons systems for all I know.

How was I to know things hadn’t changed without some cursory research?

This is fake news.

Any fighter crossing from a NATO country into Ukraine won’t make it 50 miles.

Unless they are stealth.

And that opens a whole nuther can of worms.

Russia is clearly ignoring western Ukraine, meaning far west of Kiev. There are only small cities there and no bases.

There are military air bases in Western Ukraine

"We don’t do that."

At least not since April 1941 to July 1942 when American, British, & Canadian pilots flew against the japs in China and Burma...

>>>>They’ll be in the air with Ukrainian pilots pretty much immediately, I’ve read<<<

Using what airfield? The Russians have destroyed or captured most of them, in the process of taking more. On the 25th, two Ukrainian AN-26s and two AN-32s scuttled over the border into Poland to avoid destruction.

If they can get the engines started. Risky move to use NATO pilots - at the very least they disable the ejection systems, so they don’t get captured if shot down.

They would be shot down over western Ukraine, held by Ukrainians.

They’ve had a policy of recruitung mercenaries and “volunteers” at least since 2014.

*****

No way. It’s EU pilots, and they may get shot down when they enter Ukrainian airspace.

The Germans in the WW1 era sank a US ship alleged to be carrying weapons to Great Britain.

Supplying weapons is a hostile act and can justify a response.

Weapons can legally be supplied before a war starts, but not after it does.

****

The globalists have a hard on for nuking Russia, they may consider shooting down a NATO plane with a NATO pilot in the process of being gifted to Ukraine an attack on NATO.

If they do so then this is a NATO vs. Russia war.....just as Putin said it would become if Zelensky didn’t follow the agreed on Minsk agreements. All efforts to enforce that were defeated by the Current Obama administration coaching Zelensky that’s still running things. And that Bas*tard Obama will never be held accountable for any of this mess.

The Ukrainian pilots have driven to the plane location and are fying them in.
