“He needs to drop out of the race.”
I believe that he has, according to a letter he had published in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

When I was an elected official, I’d give people my card, or even tell a roomful of folks:
“If you get a ticket, here’s my phone number. Call me up, and I’ll meet you at City Hall and I’ll take you inside and show you where the transaction window is so you can pay your fine. Then we’ll go out and get a coffee, or lunch, or a beer.”

More proof that these people that run for office or nothing but total narcissistic psychopaths

One has to wonder how many times an hour a lib gets “caught” at something and it’s NEVER reported/heard of. Because according to MSM libs are all faultless saints and only conservatives or republicans ( not necessarily same thing ) make mistakes.

Self-entitled bullies like him should be nowhere near a position of power. I sure hope he loses the election bigly. Another freeper said he's dropped out... Who did he think he was? Some member of 'intelligence' who was bullies citizens for fun? Or a Justin Trudeau? Of half the democrats in DC? You're right - good riddance - glad this bully outed himself...

Surprisingly, it took several paragraphs before his Republican status was mentioned. Accidental journalism? Almost made me choke on my chewing gum.Bullies in either party should be outed in the first paragraph by party. That said, nice to see accidental journalism happening... all of us wrongly assumed 'democrat' because the corrupt press usually protects their own.

(I don't want the press protecting our bullies either...). DC has enough of that type running the place.

“Very disappointing. Yes, Hyde has been local color in Sarasota for years, and looked to be a promising candidate. But he didn’t just shoot himself in the foot on this one — he blew it off”
*************************************************************
Yes, he did. It’s sad as the incumbent, Vern Buchanan, is toward the RINO side of the Republican caucus and we would be better off if he was replaced by a true conservative, America first candidate.

Reminds me of a local cop who gave Bill Gates a ticket for speeding when I lived in Bellevue, WA. He was fairly new on the job and had not "gotten the word" that Bill Gates was off limits. Cop was fired within a week of writing the ticket! Gates OWNS Bellevue, WA and surrounding environs and is noted for doing whatever the hell he wants!

I’m from the UK, came to the USA as a teenager, became a citizen. While you can find his type anywhere, the ‘hooligan’ stereotype does fit him nicely. He’ll threaten anyone he believes is ‘less’ than he is. He’s exactly the sort I grew up trying to avoid...which were many in the ‘80s. He’s a thug...and a moron - you ALWAYS should assume you’re being recorded. His apology is a pathetic one, only given because he was caught. He’s toast now and deservedly so.

The real divide in America is between regular people and Special People, who think you should know who they are and that it should matter. Yep.
The only way to come back from that would have been if he had continued, "Good! The law applies to all. You are a fine officer. Where do I sign?"
