and they’re testing new systems and tactics...

Which so far don’t work or are just like the old ones but with different names. Mobil crematoriums can’t get close enough to the fronts without coming under fire, convoy after convoy is being destroyed.

A “lack of momentum” would be if they are still in this situation in 20-30 days. Not less than a week into a war.

> You might not agree with your adversary’s POV, but only a fool dismisses it out of hand. <

Yes. A lifetime ago I took a college course on international politics. It was taught by an anti-communist professor (they probably don’t exist anymore). And he made your exact same point when talking about the Soviet Union.

In a way it’s like a game of poker. You don’t consider what your opponent’s best move is. Instead you consider what move your opponent will actually make. There is a difference.

“Putin knows he will lose if he tries to turn Kyiv into Rotterdam 1940 or Stalingrad. He’s doing all he can and its not enough. He’s losing and he knows it.”

Russians are not as impatient as Americans.

Hungry Ukrainian bellies have more reasoning power than even the best Russian weapons.

Well who wouldn’t believe the word of the illegal belligerent criminal force currently occupying a ghost town? 😆

“It’s odd how the Rooskies are targeting civilians for maximum murder death, but they aren’t taking out infrastructure like electricity and water.”

I have a bad feeling that if the Russians get too bogged down the dynamics of this war will change dramatically. If they do start taking out that type of infrastructure things have gone to crap and are going to get much, much worse.

This is the Alamo. The outcome of the battle is preordained but so is the fallout. “Remember Ukraine”.

Report from a site not to be named
President Vladimir Putin had decided to escalate the operation with the heaviest weapon deployed by his army, short of a nuclear warhead. The thermobaric Tos-1 Buratino creates a massive blast wave and negative pressure

I don’t get it. They’re outside of Kiev in 2 days. It took the US 3 weeks to get to Baghdad.

How are the Russians underperforming?

You imbecile. You’re equating former Soviet Bloc nations’ request and entry into NATO with the Nazi invasion of Russia!

THINK: WHY DO THEY ALL WANT TO JOIN NATO?

It is Russia who is attacking and annexing neighbors by force. Chechnya, Georgia, Belarus and now Ukraine. But NATO is the Nazi because former Soviet client states asked to join and were admitted?

The Ukraine invasion proves they were right to want to join NATO.

Hitler, drunk with power, envisioned restoring the German empire following its dissolution after WWI.

Putin, drunk with power, envisions restoring the Soviet Union following its dissolution after the Cold War.

They are both delusional madmen!

In 1941 German general staff told Hitler invading Russia would ultimately lead to defeat. Hitler told them the Russians would welcome the Germans because fascism offered a better standard of living than communism.

In 2021 Russian General Staff and intelligence chief told Putin invading Ukraine would be very costly and would ultimately fail. Putin told them the Russian soldiers would be met with flowers.

Flowers!

Can you say delusional madman?

Anyone who believes an unnamed US Defense official is stupid.

Even if what they say is true, it’s not the whole truth.

What was it Israel had?...A “six day war?

Hopefully, this will break that record. That would be great.

The Russians thought the Ukrainians would not fight back????

The same US official said that the US war in Afghanistan was a stunning success…especially the withdrawal.

Seems a lot of the Russian soldier thought this was a training exercise and sold their gear and a bunch of fuel for vodka before crossing the Ukraine border.

Russian command staff is to be commended for getting their poor slobs killed, while they eat steak and drink the best vodka.

After all how could they afford that expensive food and drink, if they hadn’t embezzled the troops ration money and replaced it with dog food?

If Ru$$ia seems to be spinning its wheels, I doubt if it’s due to poor planning or lack of resources.

What else could be going on right now that might be more meaningful to our (USA’s) national interests, or more of a security concern?

I totally discount the Pentagon on this. Putin has not released his entire army and Ukraine may well sue for peace before anything else happens. This war is over before we or NATO can ever react. Danger is if Turkey tries to cut off Russia from the Black Sea, then we will see w widening of the war and a huge mess.

Oil and Gas will go up dramatically , 200 to 300 a barrel Oil and all of us suffer, it would be a minimum of 18 months plus for us to ramp up Oil production to counter this, but Oil drilling will go through the roof. Even Biden and the idiots will see that, ion Oil goes that high the Democrat rout will be spectacular.
