UPDATE - We had to delete an earlier tweet. "Turkey hasn’t made a decision to close the straits to Russian ships yet," a senior Turkish official told @ragipsoylu.
Zelensky was apparently making a request with his tweet.— Disclose.tv (@disclosetv) February 26, 2022
I think 3 ships were hit by Russians last week......saw them named, all foreign flagged.....
Turkey’s blockade could be seen as an act of war by NATO. So not sure this is good in terms of keeping us out of the wad.
Yeah, no Russian ships hit. Isn’t it amazing. Russia invades Ukraine with 100k troops and it might be Ukraine’s fault that these ships got hit? Just mind boggling.
Oh, knock off the crap. How pathetic.
Do you even know if the FReeper you called that served in the military?
I thought so.
I’m convinced war is why they so resisted Trump. Our overlords gain power and profit from this while the average person suffers in varying degrees, ranging from getting killed to paying more at the pump.
The Bosphorus and the Dardanelles aren’t an “international strait”; they’re entirely within Turkish waters. In WW I, the Brits tried (and failed — miserably) to take them so they could resupply Tsarist Russia via the Black Sea.
NEW: Zelensky thanks Turkey for closing passage of Black Sea to Russian Warships. Big development. Turkey is an important NATO ally. The only public support Putin has received for invasion is from Syria's Assad.

Jennifer must be ecstatic.
NATO is not obligated to defend a NATO country that provokes an attack.
And, closing off the Black Sea works both ways. Romani, Bulgari, Moldavia and Turkey are very dependent upon shipping through the Bosporus
Skip the name-calling newbie.
Express a counter-opinion politely on this forum, If you want anyone to consider your point of view valid.
This is not Democrat Underground.
I recently saw a redtailed AKA chicken hawk eating a rabbit alive.
I think you may be in the wrong place,
Try DUmmies
You need to shut up for a year or two. You just got here lousy pos
Think logically if you are capable to do so. What naval threats did Russia face in the area? The shores are still under Ukrainian control.
There were already numerous anti-Russian hoaxes debunked.
The “Russian tank” running over car in downtown Kiev proved to be a Ukrainian SAM.
“Russian cruise missile” hitting an apartment building in Kiev is a Ukrainian SAM as well.
What next? Why is it required to make up lies regardless of your views on conflict?
Great find!
Turkey knows it’s on Putin’s schedule.
That will be next. A commercial airliner to be shot down.
My guess is that the U.S. told them to allow all ships to pass. Maintaining open passage on the high seas has been one of the foundational principles of U.S. foreign policy for decades. It’s the reason why the U.S. found itself in the unusual position of siding with Egypt and the Soviet Union against Great Britain, France and Israel during the Suez Canal crisis in the 1950s.
Oops! Make that a terrible find.
Thanks for all the flak, now I know I’m over the right target
