Former President Donald Trump said "everybody wanted" to get a COVID-19 vaccine when he was president and blamed vaccine mandates for low vaccine uptake among some segments of the population — even though millions of his supporters have refused to get vaccinated.
Trump, who falsely claimed vaccines cause autism in children as a presidential candidate, touted the development of COVID-19 vaccines while he was president.
"I think what we do get great credit for that they tried but it didn't work — even their side said you can't do that — is Operation Warp Speed," Trump said in an interview with the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. "And not only the fact that the vaccines were developed in nine months as opposed to five years to 12 years."

How do you keep from drowning when drinking so much koolaide?
People like Joy Behar during Trump presidency: “I am not taking that Trump vaccine. He should make his own kids take it first.”
Same people after Trump is out of office: “Everyone must take this vaccine. People not taking this vaccine are selfish and interfering with my right not to be sick.”
It was all *political* science to them.
A bleeding heart liberal associate of the spousal unit’s said, at the time, “There’s NO WAY I am going to take a Trump vaccine!!!”.
Today, she is a vaccine warrior (because now it’s Brandon’s vaccine).
No one blames you Mr. President. we blame the big phara companies involved. They are the ones that created these poisons.
“Hundreds of thousands” is a flat out joke.”
We will never know, too many government lies. I also think we go to far in the other direction too. The elderly were dying wholesale due to mistreatment or no treatment. But I know for sure corvid killed a young co-worker, his father-in-law, Mother-In-law, and sister-in-law. Another too workers had walking pneumonia and almost died.
Even if half the numbers are true, my statement still holds.
BINGO- WINNER-WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!!!
I never even considered a shot for something that the death rate was 1-2%. I have not had a flu shot for over 15 years. I am blessed with decent health and try to keep it that way.
EE Gator- I also agree with you, just shut up about the shot! Ivermectin, Zinc and D3 along with Emergen-C worked excellent for wu-flu!
WHAT SUPPORTERS? (*^%$^()*^o
But he was the best we've had since January 20, 1989.
When the whole world was scared ‘chitless’, they all wanted a cure, and the world got some quick vaccines, and most of the world was ready to get those vaccines. Democrats vilified the vaccines because they came via Trump.
Many didn’t trust the vaccines, but, the vaccines did bring some relief to many, and they still do today, even if many consider them ‘placebos’ or ineffective.
“They not only worked, but they worked extraordinarily well. Countless lives were saved. Thank you, President Trump.”
Basis?
The vaccines do not keep people from getting or transmitting Covid, ie do not work.
I assume you are arguing they decreased death and serious illness.
This is possible but not established by any well controlled study yet.
Trump got them done when no other administration would have.
It’s not his fault they don’t work.

I don’t support required vaccinations; as far as employers being able to require them, well, once they can take your blood for a drug test, or make you pee in a bottle, then your ‘right to work’ already includes giving them permission to control your body chemistry under pain of firing.
“
Defense contractors ask job applicants for drugs tests and urine samples; they don’t want druggies working on classified projects.
But taking shots as a condition of being accepted?
No way.
BTW, a major defense contractor backed off on the shots requirement, since 10% of the workforce was going to bail on them.
I heard this from a current employee of that major defense contractor.

The amount of stupid replies (not yours) in this thread is mind-boggling.
He mentioned:
That therapeutics work (promoting therapeutics would have saved 100,000s of lives)
No Mandates and no shutdowns (would have save the economy)
No young kids were getting sick (no masks, no school shut downs, child vaccine)
What else can you expect? Imagine if the three things above would have been done?
He is wrong on the vaccine, but he had every government scientist whispering in his ear. His heart is the right place. Still there is no doubt if he was President he would have saved countless lives and the economy. Doctor Death Fauci would have been fired early in the second term (he would have been more free).

many thanks for setting the record straight!
No way. Actual Covid only, that the regular flu wouldn’t have killed the year before, I’ll go with the initial over the board estimate 50,000. That is probably on the high side. A particularly virulent flu year (maybe one year in five) would eclipse the total number of Covid flu deaths. If you want to talk about deaths directly attributed to government overreaction, you are probably into the hundreds of thousands.
I would say that everyone would want a vaccine, in the original definition, for COVID19. However, the mRNA concoction that was developed is not a vaccine.
Trump is generally correct that everyone wanted a vaccine... but we didn’t get one out of Operation Warp Speed.
Likely, the legal immunity for pharma companies made the bad-performing vaccine a self-fulfilling prophesy.
I agree. I wonder if it has anything to do with him being a germaphobe. It may also be that his compassion for the average American led him to be too trusting in the (his) “vax”, mix in a healthy dose of ego, and a profound reluctance to realize that the warp speed vaccine turned out to be a unpredictable, unstable non-vaccine, and I think that’s where he’s at.
We all of us have to get humbled once in awhile.
Negative Ghostrider. I’ve NEVER felt need, the need for Warp Speed.
The majority of the people in Boston who are unvaccinated are not Trump supporters. Far from it and that’s why the vax passport in Boston ended. Most of the unvaccinated were shall we say from a protected class, and it became political incorrect. If it was only Trump supporters who were unvaxed concentration camps would have been built.
A lot of leftist said they did not trust the “vaccine” since it came out under President Trump. Once Zombie stole the election the “vaccine” was great.
