I’m very much in favor of the “peaceful divorce.” That is the best option we can get. So were the confederates, but those in power in the corrupt city of Washington DC were not going to let that happen in 1861, and they won't let that happen today.
The corrupt city of Washington DC is fed by tribute from us, and they will never let us go free.

"So were the confederates, but those in power in the corrupt city of Washington DC were not going to let that happen in 1861,,," De facto, Confederates were free & independent in 1861 until they decided to wage war on the United States.
Big mistake.
