If the democrats get slaughtered in the election, that can only mean that the ASSISTANT democrats would now be in charge.

There lies our problem. It isn’t party; it’s corrupt politicians who are thoroughly in trenches in our government, no matter WHO we vote for.

And, by the way, our military is particularly unsusessful against gurellia wars.

I wish to point out that this is only because they are deliberately restrained from being brutal.

Against us, they would be horribly vicious and they would probably implement Nazi tactics like destroying entire towns to get at the "rebels."

Well since the whole thing is a thought exercise, let’s do the thought exercise from an economic standpoint.

I’d argue that the only two states — or at least the best states — that could actually make a go of it economically, would be ideological, economic, and political foes Texas and California. Arguably, those are the primary states that have it all and could get out.

both have a long shoreline and a direct border with an important trading partner.

Both have oil and natural gas production capacity.

California has three great seaports (LA, LB, and Oakland for those who are unfamiliar), Texas has one of the greatest seaports in the world (Houston).

Both (were they politically inclined to do so) could become net energy exporters. (although Texas probably could become one of the greatest energy exporters in history)

Both have high tech in high quantities (although California has higher quality).

Both would have (upon secession) major military facilities to create their own military. One has a spaceport. One is a the present nation’s top agricultural producer, although Texas could become a farm powerhouse as well.

Pennsylvania, with its seacoast and close access to customers such as former fellow states NY and Florida, could also be a force to reckon with since it has a lot of oil and natural gas and rich sites for farming.

I’m sure there are others that might easily survive, but California and Texas would be the best candidates to be successful breakaway republics. (or in the case of California, a socialist republic. California, aka the CSSR - California Soviet Socialist Republic)

I would expect that Texas would not be alone. I think Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Possibly Kansas and New Mexico would join with it.

It might even reestablish the old confederacy with numerous additional states.

In discussions on the civil war, I have long held the view that if left alone, the original CSA would have eventually looked like this:

”If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. there may be even a worse fate, you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” - Winston Churchil

Here’s a test of where the nation is today. I will call it the Rittenhouse Test.

If a rioting, black-clad Antifa goon is shot dead while looting and committing arson, do you want to see the shooter tried in court or re-supplied?

You didn’t use those exact words, but what else could you POSSIBLY mean by that?

Not the words you claimed. You need to listen more without conjecture or ask questions before misinterpretation.

That democrats losing in the election means there is no advantage to burning down the system is based on the fact that the system showed that a party in power can be voted out.

The system worked. Using the system is infinitely preferable to the horror that would ensue in a country without law.

“ Total BS. The USA could split into 50 totally independent nations tomorrow. The “system” is designed that way.”

That’s the stuff of Putin and Xi’s dreams .
Their wildest fantasy.

Divorces, guns, dividing states from one another, or even a civil war are all Utter BS.

Biden declared war on people not living in cities by halting American energy dependence by stopping fracking, killing the pipeline, and his green deal and is shipping reduced oil volume on railcars further increasing oil prices.

There will never be a civil war, but truckers might supply dangerous cities.

Non-city dwellers and truckers really just have to have nothing to do with cities and cities cannot sustain.

The DNC are the cities and most of the Republicans and independents ain flyover country.

City dwellers think the New Green Deal can save the planet and don’t drive much in comparison to metro and busses. They fail to understand that their cherished cities are Heat Generating Concert magnets.

What world and America needs is depopulate cities by relocating people to built up areas which will Kill Socialisms attractiveness thus reversing the need for Bidens failed domestic energy policy.

There is a lot of glib arrogance by 2A people that their pop guns are going to beat artillery, armored and Air power.

This is why it should’ve been argued all along that ALL weapons are included in the 2A. Tanks, and bombers and fighters. Not just individual pop guns.

You are right.

Secession.

Except my ideal would be geographical split. East vs west. America-lovers get the East because it’s the root and we love our past. We can keep our capital and all our historic sites AND statues. Commie libs can have the dessert lands and have fun trying to maintain them “Greenly”, when there is no green.

This article is stupid. All one has to do is look at the 2020 election map by counties to see how dumb this article is. Instead of thinking about States one should think in terms of counties and cities. It is no contest:

You are assuming that November 2022 will be different from November 2020. What assurance do we have that this will be so?

There aren't any absolute assurances. However, we seem to be doing very well in special elections and in a lot of local races. The polling is wildly in our favor, which it wasn't in 2020. In any case, why not at least wait and see what happens this November before deciding whether it is the right time to starting whomever it is you intend to shoot?

”How come nobody ever talks of a tax revolt?”

Are you not paying attention to what is happening in Canada ?

Every piece of real property you own and every dime in a bank account is readily available to the government to confiscate. The burden will be on you to beg for a return of some of your wealth.

The USA could split into 50 totally independent nations tomorrow. The “system” is designed that way.

In the 18th Century, before truck delivered food the warehouses and then to grocery stores. No state is food independent. Few states are self sufficient in electricity ; all are dependent on multi-state power grids, to say nothing of phones.

Who’s going to be crossing hostile state lines to bring in medical supplies and all the other items people need today.
