Yeah, they’ll be independent the same way East Germany was independent of Russia.

So it’s still imminent?

And…as soon as he does, the leaders of those republics will invite the Russians in to provide “security.”

This could be a very bad thing.

Ukraine needs to make peace with these territories and allow them to self-govern.

He can then invade when he feels like it, with the ‘excuse’ that ethnic Russians there are suffering ‘persecution’, the same rationale that Hitler used to invade Poland.

Meanwhile in Washington, our ‘president’ is probably more worried about what flavor of pudding Jill will be serving him this afternoon before sleepy time.

So, this was likely his intention all along, and the reason for the troops buildup. It gives him his land buffer from NATO that he would have lost if/when Ukraine is granted membership.

“German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had “expressed disappointment” over the decision in phone calls with Putin.”

Germans should really STFU about anything having to do with eastern Ukraine for another century or so.

It makes perfect sense. The provinces of Donetsk and Luhansk are not really "Ukrainian" in the sense that ethnic Ukrainians live there. Donetsk and Luhansk are populated by ethnic Russians. Most of these people want an end to the low-level warfare that's engulfed their lives for the past eight years and to make their way as parts of a much larger Russian homeland.

I'm sure this is part of a larger deal that was cut years ago. Nobody wants the running sore of conflict in Donetsk and Luhansk. It's causing problems for everybody.

Meanwhile in DC they continue supporting the Kurds breaking away a third of Syria. DC pushed for moslem Kosovo to break away from Serbia. DC is even pushing for DC to break away from the USA and form a new state.

DC has no problem with ethnic areas breaking away from historic arrangements and borders.. until they do.

Joe will probably bless this arrangement, do a victory lap, and then go get some ice cream. Joe wanted Iraq to become 4 different states, so he would likely endorse two sectors of Ukraine to become puppet-states of Pooty-poot.

Ever notice how authoritarian WEF failures like Macron, Olav Sholz, Biden, Trudeau, etc cannot stop talking about Russia?
Imagine if Putin started meddling in the Yellow Vest protests, or DC Statehood, BLM or threw in with Texas in the US Border crisis, imagine if Putin started getting loud about the truckers convoy and sent a few billion to help them organize.

I think they are basically finished placating the western leaders whims and have learned that nothing short of turning over administration of Russia to the WEF will satisfy our leaders.

Looks like a lot of people are upset that Putin could get away with not pushing the gay agenda.

“In #Russia, the stock exchange index is down by 14.2% in Monday trading over concerns of a large scale invasion into Ukraine, erasing over $12.7 bn in market value in a single day. “

Little Pukin is making a big mistake.

There goes Biden’s foreign policy victory lap on March 1.

Since Putin is apparently not invading, will the proposed meeting with Putin, that the State Dept so desperately proposed through Macron, be dead or still viable?

NATO brought this on by making its club as open to all comers.

It’s not a Target chain.

Not every country should be in it.

DEFINITELY not a useless one that dems take billions in bribes from every year.
