It's sad. I used to be a Federal Contractor for them. They weren't bad back then.

It's all about the leadership. Back when Tom Frieden, for example, was the Director of the CDC, they famously put out a firearms-use-and-safety study that Obama illegally ordered, whose facts directly refuted the anti-gunners' party lines. It showed that there was a societal net-benefit to firearms ownership. Back then, they stuck to the science and the facts.

But since then, the CDC has become, as you say, a useless appendage of the Deep State and liberal Democrats.

I met a lot of full-time-employees of the CDC who were staunch conservatives... I'm sure now they keep their heads down.
