Mayor Adams Calls Barring Kyrie Irving From Barclays ‘Unfair,’ Won’t Change Rule

Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday agreed with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver who said it “doesn’t quite make sense” that Nets star Kyrie Irving can’t play at Barclays Center while visiting players who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 can — but cautioned changing the rule might send “the wrong message.”

Following a press conference about the city’s 2023 budget, Adams told reporters he was “struggling” with the aspect of the municipal vaccine regulation that allows away players inside sports venues but bars athletes who live in the five boroughs from entering their hometown arenas, while declining to reveal if he would reform it.

“First of all, I think the rule’s unfair. I believe that we are saying to out-of-town athletes that they can come in and not be vaccinated, yet New York athletes do have to be vaccinated,” Adams said at City Hall in response to a reporter’s question about Silver’s comments.

He's got a point - it would send the wrong message - that our leaders are rational, or guided by common sense.

“First of all, I think the rule’s unfair.”

Hishonor then continued...

Well, maybe, but I fired 1400 plebs the other day, so really I don’t give two S**** about what’s fair.”

These guys need to give up on their draconian vaccine mandates. They've lost the argument and it's time to move on. If only they cared as much about therapeutics as they do about these ridiculous mandates.

I think PDJT’s four-year interregnum is going to turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Look at what these foolish people are doing with the power they stole.

I’m having a lot of fun watching all the little dictators defend their decisions.
It’s impossible now.
The hardest thing for some people is admitting that they were wrong.

Yep. Don’t change the rule. Keep wearing that BS badge, so people will not be confused.

Oh history is very clear on that point.

The kind of people who spend their life working to get power are willing to kill tens of millions of people rather than admit they were wrong.

Adams, like Trudeau, has his orders, and will follow them.

They lost the argument early on when they exempted anti-Trump rallies from restrictions/social distancing.

Where is the “science” in allowing “unvaccinated” visiting players to perform in NYC while home team members who won’t take the hot shots can’t play?

It is laughable, but serious; this is nothing more than tyranny forcing its will on people. Dem states already had a brain drain, which accompanied a capital/jobs drain; this has accelerated it tenfold. They’ll replace the fleeing American makers with foreign takers, and the makers will still get the bill...
