Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on Monday in an effort to crack down on protesters that have shut down parts of Ottawa and various border crossings with the U.S.
Trudeau informed his cabinet and Canada’s premiers of his intent Monday morning. The prime minister’s announcement marks the first time the act, which replaced the War Measures Act in 1988, has been employed.
“After discussing with cabinet and caucus, after consultation with premiers from all provinces and territories, the federal government has invoked the emergencies act to supplement provincial and territorial capacity to address the blockades and occupations,” Trudeau announced in a press conference. “I want to be very clear, the scope of these measures will be time-limited, geographically targeted, as well as reasonable and proportionate to the threats they are meant to address. The emergencies act will be used to strengthen and support law enforcement agencies at all levels across the country.”

And that is the thing…employee truckers can’t just support the movement unless they are willing to lose their jobs.
But, there is already a shortage of truckers in Canada, so if enough employee truckers decide to take sick days, companies/corporations will get on board.
In saying that…they can strike for 2 weeks and pick the company they work for afterwards.
This is probably coming to a country near us... so what is the answer?
Having a certain amount of cash on hand in ones’ home is always advisable, but seriously, what do you with the $ in s@vings accounts that the gov-ment could/would/will confiscate if they don’t like your peaceful pr0test???

Trudeau won’t starve and he doesn’t care if innocent others do. He’s a tyrant. Canada will be the newest Cuba unless the truckers and all Canadians decide to do something about him.
Freezing Bank accounts is what nations do in a war.......so Trudeau sees this as a war between himself and his citizens.....

I’m in Alberta and have a couple of open positions available for construction work. So I periodically jump onto a few job posting sites to check out who is hiring etc.
I would say on many sites Class 1, or Class A postings are 40% of all vacancies posted.

When, pray tell, throughout history has such ever been true? There is always a “reason” to expand such measures. Canada you are now a dictatorship.

Don’t worry, @JustinTrudeau isn’t “calling in the military”. He is just authorizing banks to unilaterally freeze your accounts on the basis of suspicion alone, no court order required, with legal immunity. Exactly. He showed his true colors when he refuse to even meet with the protesters and said they were wrong, uneducated, etc. It has only gotten worse from their.
