Geneva (AFP) – The WHO Wednesday urged rich countries to pay their fair share of the money needed for its plan to conquer Covid-19 by contributing $16 billion as a matter of urgency.
The World Health Organization said the rapid cash injection into its Access to Covid Tools Accelerator could finish off Covid as a global health emergency this year.
The WHO-led ACT-A is aimed at developing, producing, procuring and distributing tools to tackle the pandemic: vaccines, tests, treatments and personal protective equipment.
ACT-A needed $23.4 billion for its programme for the year October 2021-September 2022 but only $800 million has been raised so far.
The scheme therefore wants $16 billion up front from wealthy nations "to close the immediate financing gap", with the rest to be self-funded by middle-income countries.

“Rich countries”? You mean countries where people work productively. “Poor countries”? you mean countries where people wait for the check from the “rich countries.”
I support the “rich countries” sitting back and letting omicron run its course in the “poor countries.”

And the majority of that $$$$$$$$$ they are requesting will go straight to China for their crap products. Tell them China can donate their cheap crap since they released this scourge. So simple

Ok, if a guy who owes credit card debt of hopelessly and vastly more than he can ever pay, is he rich?
“He” is USA, who is in a black hole of debt, so much debt the USA can not afford to pay more than statistically negative rates on bank deposits (inflation & “zero” interest).
So USA is NOT rich.

China seems to have plenty of money to corrupt Western politicians and corporations with, let China pay.
They see the writing on the wall that the pandemic is ending and are making a last ditch effort to swindle as much money as possible.
If the Rich countries give the con artist $16B; COVID will last forever and they will host a thousand symposiums at
5-star Holtels around the world.

WHO is the group that concluded that DDT caused the mass starvation/famine by saving too many starving africans from malaria.

I fully support the World Health Organization's call for "rick" countries to pay up.
As soon as the United States of America -- up to its neck in national debt at $30,000,000,000,000 -- pays off its debt and can claim to have some money rather than borrowing to fund government, I think we should then be classed as "rich" and pay up.
Until then, as the nation MOST IN DEBT in the world, we are not "rich." We are fiscally bankrupt. So, according to the socialists at the WHO, we don't need to "pay up" one dime.
