The league commissioner can complain about the lack of diversity among these coaches and even establish as a point of fact (hypothetically) that the NFL needs more blacks in those positions, but no team has an incentive to take a chance and go outside its normal selection process to hire a less-than-ideal candidate just for the sake of a “diversity” goal that spans the entire league.
Correct.
The players and coaches are hired and paid based on MERIT, which = results and ROI to the owners. The owners couldn’t care less about the employee’s ethnicity or race.
