300 reasons for Putin to think twice about invading Ukraine: US sends Kiev a plane-load of lethal Javelin anti-tank weapons - each with Vlad's name on them
Daily Mail ^ | 26-JAN-2022 | CHRIS PLEASANCE

An 80-tonne shipment of US anti-tank missiles has arrived in Ukraine - just the latest delivery of high-tech weapons aimed at inflicting maximum death and destruction on Putin's forces if he decides to invade.

A plane loaded with 300 Javelin missiles worth some $50million landed in capital Kiev late Tuesday, the third part of a $200million shipment of American military aid that is being sent to help its ally.

The shipment also contained grenade launchers, as well as ammunition and other non-lethal weapons systems, and comes in addition to other anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons already supplied by the UK, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

” If the war goes badly enough, Putin could be forced from office.”

I disagree. He’s there for life. This dude assassinated ALL his political enemies by poison etc. the past 20 years. alone. You dont get to be a dictator by following the law LOL.

I wouldn’t bet on that. Anti-Tank weapons aren’t 100%. They are not rapid fire and have to be in the general vicinity of the tanks. There are defenses. Some work, some don’t. Don’t get sucked into a numbers game.

“Would we not have to send in ‘advisors’ to train the Ukrainians on them?”

Actually not. Javelins were first delivered to Ukraine several years ago. Training has already been provided.

“Tactical Nukes.”

I do not support providing nukes to the Ukrainian army.

Ukraine can win without them.

More “Russia, Russia, Russia,” more jerking our chains for some hidden political reason

Exactly. Why is this “phantom menace” being hyped up now? Even the Ukrainians are saying this invasion talk is being hyped.

It’s an attempt to blanket the news. What are the leftists afraid of?

This is nothing but Biden giving back to the country that he bullied into firing the prosecutor that was looking into prosecuting him and his son for crimes committed against Ukraine.

Putin doesn’t need the cost of a full-scale invasion to take down the Ukrainian government. He’ll just use FSB, GRU and Spetsnaz people who are fluent in Ukrainian to do an “unconventional” takedown of that government.

When Putin backs down, Biden will claim victory. The thing is that nobody in America really feels threatened by this so it won't be much of a success for Brandon.

Possibly. The Ruskies don’t consider them to be a last-ditch weapon. Just part of the arsenal.

If there is a war, and that is a big if. The start of the war will be an naval and aerial bombardment (Shock and Awe) to destroy Ukraine’s ability to fight a war. Russia would rule the skies, land, and sea.

I don’t think Putin would be a politically correct (woke) as us. He would fight it as a war, to win and destroy the enemy. I could see a surrender even before the first tanks cross the border.

Imagine that you had overwhelming superiority in the air, sea, and land and no qualms about using all your forces to maximum benefit. How would you fight?

Big deal. So they sent anti tank missiles over.

Those work against planes and Helicopters?

Because Russia has about a 5 to 1 advantage.

These GD dumb assholes in pig faces administration cant wait to get somebody fighting.

BTW, has the NATO navy re-established contact with that Russian sub yet?

Didn’t napoleon and hitler prove the futility of offensive war during Russian winters? Or is Ukraine far enough south to nullify that? I’d think real war should wait a couple months, whereas for scaring folks by the eating heating oil/gas supply the time is now.

Did Congress approve these war making activities or the arming of Ukraine with the latest and greatest missile technology?

Are we going to leave them all behind when Biden wimps out here, like he did in Afghanistan?

“Russia would rule the skies, land, and sea.”

Sounds pretty easy for Russia to win then...

You do realize Stinger missiles have been delivered to Ukraine?

Add to that, are the Russian soldiers really eager to risk being maimed or killed for Ukraine?

If they were fighting off an invasion on native Russian soil, yes I would expect them to be very motivated to fight fiercely. But to invade another country for Putin’s greater glory, or for increasing revenue for the oligarchs? Don’t think so.

The point is that Russia has them and Russia will use them.

The US has no business in Eastern Europe.

Supplying Ukraine with tactical missiles to kill Russians is insane. And if his back is to the wall, Putin’s will unleash the nukes. Count on it.

“Or is Ukraine far enough south to nullify that?”

Not an expert (but play one on FR). I read that come Spring the soil over there thaws from the winter and makes for a muddy mess.

That the optimal invasion time is Jan-March.

“ Putin is getting cornered. If he backs down and doesn’t invade, he looks weak at home and abroad.”

Consider the possibility that Putin’s plan was to increase the cost (and profits) of oil & natural gas sales.
