South Sudan’s former deputy defense minister, Majak D’ Agoot fell and hurt himself during a mountain hike in the capital, Juba on Wednesday.
Majak, in a tweet on Wednesday, said he slipped off a rock on Jebel Mountain while on fitness hiking and fractured his arm in the process.
The former deputy defense minister, however, assured the public that he was recuperating following a successful procedure to fix the humerus.
“Slipped over a wet rocky surface on Jebel Kujur and sustained a fractured arm while hiking. I’ve had a successful procedure tonight to fix my humerus in Juba – thanks to a team of South Sudanese orthopedic surgeons. Thank you for your prayers and messages of support!” he wrote.
The former minister held several positions in government, including serving as deputy chief of national security and intelligence service before South Sudan seceded from neighboring Sudan in July 2011.
In December 2013, however, Majak was one of the senior members of the country’s ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) detained by authorities over political differences and calls for reforms within the party.
“the world’s newest country’.
I sure didn’t know about this. Interesting.
In 2011 I was still dealing with Obama and his puppetmasters.
It’s called ‘South Sudan’. I hope they have reliable ways of making money during the warm seasons.
Good luck wishes for the former minister. That’s a bad injury and I doubt if South Sudan has much on individual health insurance.
Governor Sanford of South Carolina took a tumble hiking the Appalachian Trail and ended up in Argentina.
