Go bold, GOP: 10 commandments worth running on in midterm elections
New York Post ^ | 01/20/2022 | Victor Davis Hanson

Can Republicans move beyond just completing the original, necessary Trump agenda on closing the border, legal-only immigration, deterrence against China, energy production, immunity from optional military engagements in the Middle East, industrial and manufacturing resurgence in the Rust Belt and conservative judicial appointments?

What would such a new Contract with America entail, if it were indeed wise before the midterms to advertise such a confident Newt Gingrich-like strategy for regaining the House? And should a menu be more rather than less detailed? What about the follow-up for a later Republican presidency?

Here are the Ten Commandments worth running on, some new, some old. Not all are official policy positions. Some are recommendations for action even when the federal government is not directly involved.

Say it with calm and intelligent pride, not a boast and you will bring in Independents and any Dim voters who are at odds with their Leftist reps in Congress.

I like that it lets the Dims run on “abortion”, now that they are losing that issue and the GOP does not have to emphasis it.

Gingrich deliberately (IMO) single handedly destroyed the Limbaugh Revolution of 1994, and handed the government back to the Clintons/CCP.

At the time, it seemed as if he was just a Narcissistic jerk who stupidly pissed away the Revolution.

In retrospect, it is clear he was never on our side at all. Controlled opposition who actively aided the other side.

Seems like a bit of a hot take. Most of the CWA passed the House, but as usual, any good legislation dies in the Senate. Can't blame that on Gingrich (but you can blame it on the worthless Trent Lott and his RINO nogoodnicks). Right now, the Senate is the blockade to real, positive change in this country, with both D and R senators sharing the blame.

#1 don’t call it 10 commandments.

We already have 10 commandments. don’t equate the two. You will thoroughly piss of all Christians, both left and right.

Contract with America was good. Do something similar.

I am a right wing Trump loving conservative and Christian and I don’t like it.

Should make every R running acknowledge this basic plan. Might be a good idea to lay out some specifics as too generalized.

Not titled “The 10 commandments”. Just called 10 commandments for them to run on. There is a clear difference.

still-using the term ten commandments for anything other than the original God directed will cost the republican party dearly. drop the connection/reference to these ‘Guiding Principles” as opposed to Ten Commandments.
