We are hearing a lot of people expressing happiness at the low Biden poll numbers, and some are looking forward to a Democrat crash later this year. One conservative outlet stated, "The polling confirms voters are fed up with Mr. Biden's failures. After a year of Biden-driven decline, Americans are looking for a positive, forward-looking alternative." Perhaps they are counting their chickens before they are hatched?
This writer looked up some history about changes in control of the House and Senate and found the following:
* The Democrats gained the House and Senate back in 2006. President George Bush's approval ratings that year, according to Gallup, hovered in the high 30th percentile, with brief moments above 40. If Biden's approval ratings remain low throughout the year, predictions of a Republican sweep of House and Senate might materialize. However, we cannot forget that by 2006, it became clear than Pres. Bush and his secretary of state, the revered phony Gen. Colin Powell, had presented bald-faced lies to the public about the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq as an excuse to invade that terrible country. So far, a lie of that magnitude has not been forthcoming from the Biden tirades and drivel. Rather, we have been blessed with merely hearing a bunch of lesser lies and distortions.
* In 1994, both Houses went Republican, yet in January of that year, Pres. Clinton's approval rating was at 58%, but by the two months prior to November, it had fallen to about 40%.
The low presidential approval just prior to the November election suggests last-minute disaffection, but that year does show that the high level of popularity achieved by Clinton at the beginning of and for most of the year did not translate into victory at the time of the election

Democrats are probably snickering right now. Approval ratings, polls, past elections, etc. mean nothing.
Cheer leaders on one side, Eeyores on the other.
How about something in the middle....
“If we go into the elections like Glenn Youngkin’s team did in Virginia, with thousands of young, muscular Republican poll watchers (rather than blue haired grannies and old Pops), and work like never before to get out the vote for our side, we can win this.
Anything else is collaboration and defeatism.
It’s not cheer leading, it’s WORKING to make good things happen, instead of whining on Free Republic.
Q is for KooKs
I wonder why the Rats didn’t just cheat themselves a Senate majority and a larger House majority while they were at it. I’m surprised they would allow enough Republicans in to block Xiden’s agenda if they could rig any election they wanted.
Or the lie that biteme legitimately won the election.🤔
There are several offices in my rural KY county that have no candidates. No one wants to be aggravated by the stupidity that comes with these offices.
Right now I plan on voting for Rand Paul for senate in my state. I haven’t voted for my representative Hal Rogers in nearly a decade, he’s KY’s answer to Robert Byrd where government $ is concerned, I leave that slot unchecked. I will vote for some local R’s and some I will leave blank as the R candidates are just as bad as the D candidates.
I have complete confidence that the GOP will screw up the mid-terms and if they should stagger into an actual majority expect absolutely nothing to come of it but conservative disappointments. I am quite cynical where the GOP is concerned having been burned by these cheese eating surrender monkeys time and again.
That's what we'll do!
.
Since my state has no viable options, I plan on NOTA - G rated = None of the Above, R rated - None of These A$$h0les
