Comparable arguments were made about digital cameras, credit cards, voicemail, cellphones, email, and a myriad of new tech. Lots of persuasive reasons to not adopt new tech … then nearly everyone adopted them seemingly overnight.
Yes EVs aren’t ideal for all uses everywhere in all cases, but they’re rapidly improving and are reaching the point where deficiencies are eclipsed by benefits.
When any activity, product, medicine, or technology, is pushed by government, over all other choices, only an effin dumbass would fail to be suspicious.
Remove the EV government subsidies of various kinds and the industry is dead as a doornail.

Well said. A very skeptical friend of mine swore my battery powered chainsaw could not keep up with his gas powered chainsaw. It did and more.
He has since bought 2 battery powered saws.
I remember the old school framer I knew 25 years ago who used a hammer said nailers would never take off...too bulky, heavy, needed air or electric supply. I have not seen framers use hammers in years.

They built a better mousetrap, and people wanted their product. EV’s selling point is manufactured guilt and government interference in free trade. Let EV companies stand on their own two feet and produce something consumers will flock to.

***Invalid analogy. Those devices are moving ELECTRONS. If you increase the size of an electron to the size of the earth, it’ll weigh less than a feather. It would be incredibly easy to imagine the growth factor capability of a metal 20X stronger than steel weighing a single gram to build an entire aircraft carrier with.
