I don’t think the goal is to keep our current energy consumption. I think the left wants to drasticly reduce consumption and have the government ration it. Probably using a social credit system.
Fully agreed. “Smart” meters, etc. to effectively ration energy use. And just watch those rates when (in theory) more people drive “electric” cars and stop paying gas taxes. Cost of electricity will skyrocket, regardless of whether or not one owns such a vehicle. The dream of the left is to motor amidst others of their ilk on lightly travelled highways in vehicles so expensive as to be inaccessible to those they consider lesser humans. But not to worry, as we will have our 500 square foot apartments and “mass transit”.
