I did not realize that the leading edge of the electric generating windmills are made of lead.
When those damn obscenities chop up a bald eagle there is not crime nor fine. Let a duck land on a pond a few miles away that is contaminated by a small oil spill and the fines are massive.
Whoever pays for a “study” will get the results they paid for.
Bulls***! There are thousands of them in Alaska, and they are increasing here in Texas. I had a bald eagle in my backyard a few weeks ago.
the truth is that they are eating the lead paint chips that flake off the wind mills-
Paging Rachel Carson.
and in another story covid kills the elderly in nursing homes not the govenors
The growth in the eagle population was six less than the year before. Growth, not population. No one knows the number of birds killed by turbines, nor of eagles, but it's far more than 6. In a 2013 study, agency biologists found that the number of eagles killed by wind turbines increased to 24 in 2011 from two in 2007. During the study period, the agency documented 85 eagles that had been killed by wind turbines. And that's nearly a decade ago.
Bull shit
The best course for America is to eradicate the pro UK loyalists among us who insist on no guns
Anti Gun is AntiAmerica and such people are American enemies be they Black or white
W have more bald eagles in my area than ever. It’s routine to see them flying.
Exactly right. This SUDDENLY pops up? Lead has been coming OUT of ammunition for years, the population of hunters isn’t going up, and the number of harvested animals is going down.
This study doesn’t pass a rudimentary smell test. (and I’m not a hunter)
Have you even read the study? Not the newspaper article but the study itself?
Gun grabbers.
The flying pigs, otherwise known as bald eagles, are more common in Western WA than hawks. The affirmative action poultry.
There is a major contradiction between the headline and the first sentence. The head line says drop in population growth the lead says decline in population. Which is it? I t can’t be both. The headline is made to sound dire, but really it is not.
An actual decline in population is more alarming but the attributed cause is suspicious. The bald eagle population has been recovering for decades now. As a kid I remember going someplace where there was a nest and it was a rare sight to see. Now on occasion we will see them flying overhead when we aren’t even seeking them out. However I have a hard time believing that hunters are suddenly leaving so many more deer carcasses lying around with bullets in them that after years of recovery it is effecting the population.
