WASHINGTON (AP) — The federal website where Americans can request free COVID-19 tests will begin accepting orders on Wednesday as the White House looks to address nationwide shortages, but supplies will be limited to just four free tests per home.
Starting on Jan. 19, the website COVIDTests.gov will provide tests at no cost, including no shipping fee, the White House announced Friday.
The White House said “tests will typically ship within 7-12 days of ordering” through the U.S. Postal Service, which reports shipping times of 1-3 days for its first-class package service in the continental United States.
Officials said they are cognizant that any launch of a website carries some risks — and memories of the disastrous roll-out during the Obama administration of Healthcare.gov are still fresh — but said they believe they are well-positioned to handle expected demand for tests.

Joe and his FDA Commissioner, just make sure Amazon, CVS, Walgreen’s, McKesson, etc. have enough tests.
A test delayed is a test denied.
Let the market handle the problem.
I don’t trust the stinking tests to NOT be loaded up with the NEW mid term variant!!
May your voters wait 7 to 12 years to vote for you again.
Oh for crying out loud if you are sick stay home and take care of yourself like you would NORMALLY do, IF you start to have trouble breathing go to the doctor, NEVER, EVER go to a hospital unless you are at deaths door!! You enter a hospital and they vent you kiss your ass goodbye!! What the hell is with all the fricking panic testing??
A virus supposedly so dangerous yet you have to be tested to know if you have it.
Even white people can get them?
Not in the beginning.
Don’t you just hate people who don’t let you get away with your lies?
They belong in detention camps, don’t they?
What beginning? This is about the tests that are being used now.
You were the one claiming that they needed to be shoved up your nose so far that they would cause damage.
I correctly pointed out, straight from the instructions, that you don’t. You don’t like the fact that I showed you this, now you are retreating to standard wackadoodle fare.
My point stands. You’d need to be a complete moron to injure yourself with the test being used now. Whatever they were using “in the beginning” is irrelevant.
Perhaps you think everyone who disagrees with you should be in a “camp?”
😆😸
The tests are not free! We the People have paid for them.
Did the ChiComs make these home tests?
If so, are these tests the ones, CDC ruled out as a test.
So if I develop cold-or-flu-like symptoms and request a test, 8 to 15 days later I might (unless they run out of tests, which is the most likely scenario) receive a test that will tell me ... tell me what, exactly? Since 8-15 days after ordering the test I should be recovered, hospitalized or dead.
Hypochondria is a highly contagious disease that has reached epidemic proportions.
By the time the website is ready, we will be done with the Omicron wave.
“They don’t have enough false positives.. gotta start ramping them up again for a new “variant”.”
These things probably have the “new” (and improved) variant already already smeared with it.
What better way to infect the entire country with the disease than to disguise it as a “Test Kit”.
I’ll be filing these items when they come, in the circular file.
No thanks. Not playing.
While I’m at it, I’d like my taxes back, too.
The risk is being carried by the unvaccinated. They have that right. People who are vaccinated have a very low probability of being hospitalized. The unvaccinated make up over 85% of all hospitalizations currently. But it’s each person’s right whether or not to protect themselves.
I’ve thought exactly the same thing.
When the tests were first brought out that’s what they did.
I don’t bother with psychopathic liars.
