Actually the press is no longer needed, the dollar is now
basically a digital currency with cash being a very minor part of legal commerce. I have a background in maintenance of printing equipment so I know that American paper money is printed by the intaglio process and with the 100 being the largest bill printed it is physically impossible to produce enough cash to run the economy on cash now.

A little study will reveal that the original meaning of inflation in economics is an increase in the money supply, price increases are the result of inflation rather than inflation itself, so increasing the money supply is the ONLY thing which IS actual inflation which means that only government can cause inflation!
