The President of Kazakhstan is tightening his grip on power and has given the order for authorities to "shoot to kill without warning" as political unrest in his country grows. NBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin explains the situation, including the latest war of words between the U.S. and Russia on the future of the region.

This goes both ways, and numbers matter.
They have enough ammo?
Visions of Ceaușescu.
Putin’s proxy war with NATO/EU, continues.
Old news, the ‘protests’ are largely over.
Visions of Ceaușescu.
I think Putin may have shot himself in the leg with the intervention in Kazakhstan. He gained Kazakhstan, but lost Ukraine for good. The West can now see that Putin doesn’t negotiate in good faith and is an obvious aggressor. No concessions for Putin any more.
Looks like Hunter and the Big Guy were scraping some grift off of the Kazakis.
Both Biden (and Putin then,) want to keep the corruptocracy in place. If threatened, the oil billionaires there can certainly blackmail Biden.
When you say “the West” are you talking about Biden’s administration? Putin owns every one of those guys.
“Shoot to kill”
This is what “leaders” around the globe will conclude is a necessary response to their political opposition and any of their supporters.
Old, fake news is what NBC and Yahoo specialise in. Actually, they are incapable of anything else.
Well, with Biden’s administration anything is possible. Still, I believe that after what happened in Kazakhstan, pushing Ukraine into an unfavorable deal with Putin would be much more difficult to justify.
How does this not lead to shooting back?
“Back the blue”
Remember. Our “authorities” will obey when given that order by our masters too.
*Square km of USA =
3.797 km ×2
*Square km of Russia proper =
17,098,242 km x2
*Square km of Russian controlled CIS economy and battle space =
20,368,759 km x2
If Russia formally retakes the rest of Ukraine, reconnects Kaliningrad to Belarus, and retakes the Balkans, the number of square km and people and resources under direct control of Moscow will increase significantly from what it already is. Especially with Ukraine.
Moscow’s CIS military and police control could then have millions more young men to draw from.
Putin could well do this.
However, having studied the CIS, and as the Military Headquarters of the CIS military has always remained in Moscow (since before the official planned “dissolution” of USSR), and CIS governmental HQ is in Kremlin controlled offices in Minsk, why would Putin need to do this?
Kazakhstan is already fully integrated into, and fully compliant with the Kremlin controlled CIS.
All three original treaties, and subsequent CIS agreements and subordination of CIS members (including full reciprocal compliance with Moscow/Minsk finance, economic, energy, trade, police, and military policy), which make up the geographic CIS, are already strategically subordinate in air, land, sea, and space battle space. CIS Subordination to Moscow has long been so complete, it even includes full integration and subordination of CIS member nation police and militaries under Moscow.
As such, the question of why Putin would carry out this takeover, when CIS members are already subordinate, needs to be answered.
