Amy Schneider has become the first woman to surpass $1 million on “Jeopardy!”
In the episode on Friday, Schneider amassed $42,200, bringing the total up to 1,518,601, Today reported.
Schneider has played 38 games in order to become the fourth person who earned more than $1 million on the show.
“It feels amazing, it feels strange,” Schneider said after earning $1 million, according to Today. “It’s not a sum of money I ever anticipated would be associated with my name.”
Previous high earners on “Jeopardy!” include Ken Jennings with $2,520,700, James Holzhauer with $2,462,216 and Matt Amodio with $1,518,601.
Schneider had already made history as the first transgender person to place in the show's Tournament of Champions and holds the record for most wins by a woman.

Oh my, another reminder that I’d rather watch old reruns of Hee Haw than new episodes of Jeopardy these days, lol.

He may be smart, but he’s not smart enough to make himself into a woman. There’s not a thing he can cut off or mutilate that will make him a woman. I picked up on him on the first time I saw him. He’s an amazing contestant on that show, but he is nothing more or less than a man. Actually, he’s kind of creepy to see him talk.
And I’m so tired of listening to them refer to him as a woman.

When my wife watches Jeopardy and I mention that “sometimes the best woman for the job is a man,” my wife just smirks but does say anything.
I haven’t watched jeopardy in years. I definitely won’t be watching anymore.
His winnings are $1,019,001 not 1,518,601. The latter figure is Amodio’s winnings. He’s got a ways to go to catch the other guys.
Badly written article on a number of levels. It has Schneider earning the exact same amount as Amodio (which I doubt). And, of course, touting Schneider as a woman when he is physically a man.
Beyond that, I can’t help but wonder if they have been engineering things to ensure Schneider’s winning streak. I don’t watch Jeopardy, but my wife does. She commented that it seems the contestant competing against Schneider are not all that sharp. She also previously expressed the opinion that Amodio threw his last game (for whatever reason).
The motivation for engineering Schneider’s victories is to how how “smart” transpeople are.
