I heard or read somewhere that is has to do with the intensity of the exercise each sport requires.
Soccer is much more physically demanding because of the running and the size of the field, than either basketball or even football.
A lot of football is brief plays in the midst of a lot of standing around.
The sport where I’d expect to see more issues would be hockey but have not heard much about hockey players dropping.
So it could be the vax itself.

I’m very familiar with soccer and I played ice hockey right through college. Soccer is much more physically demanding on your heart. In ice hockey your gliding a lot and you also get a shift break every minute or so. In soccer you only propel yourself with your own feet. Jogging or sprinting out there for 45 minutes straight. With no break. And then another 45 minutes.
I just updated my list of “unusual events”, there are around a dozen hockey players, but by and far the largest group is soccer, followed by football, and track, basketball, hockey, weightlifting...
