Russia is not some perfect place but those who hate Russia have economic motives like cutting Russia out of the natural gas market.

Ted Cruz of Texas wants to help US natural gas by shutting down Russian natural gas through Nord Stream 2.

The Russians will get the job done, I’ll give them that. But let’s not kid ourselves and call it peaceful.

“You need Christians to have a Christian empire.”

And a leader who doesn’t provide military support to nations who persecute Christians.

I wish the Russians would have come in to rid the nation of the rioters in 2020.

“When this destruction takes place in ANY protest I’m all for taking it down and breaking it up however is necessary....and yes shooting those who are setting fires and showing violent behavior.”

Said King George.

Just pointing out you hold the same position as King George did about American Revolutionaries.

Our founding fathers had a lot to say about that.

Kazakhstan is just prosperous enough that people realize how corrupt the government has become. There has been pressure to elect instead of centrally appointing regional leadership. The fuel price is more the trigger, setting off building frustrations.

There's no "has become" to it, although I would agree with the rest of your analysis. Kazakhstan's gov't has basically incorporated the worst features of the Russian model(s) ever since the end of WW2. Every Kazak knows furthermore that theirs is a puppet gov't: Not only has it been heavily repressive and corrupt as far back as anyone remembers, for many years no one in it sneezes without Putin's approval. Kazaks are smart enough to realize the treasure of mineral and energy wealth they are sitting on, and yet the corruption and mismanagement continue the economic misery.

As a side note: Aside from the Putinistas, we have on FR otherwise smart people who, over and over, somehow don't recognize that this is the sort of pressure cooker in which, unless the people have been totally enslaved and defanged (say, North Korea), at some point a trigger will cause a reaction that tries to blow the lid off. A type of crowd mentality and escalating triggers come into play that, while that psyche of the populace may be assisted or taken advantage of in a minor way by outsiders, it is really driven almost entirely by long time powerful forces amongst that crowd, boiling past the capability of "easy" suppression.

“ Kazakhstan is just prosperous enough that people realize how corrrupt the government has become.”

I wish that Americans would realize how incredibly corrupt the government has become…because the Kazakh government is in the deep minor leagues compared to ours when it comes to corruption. The U.S. is the Alabama Crimson Tide of corruption.

If this really blows up, 2500 troops will dent it a bit at most.

I don’t think the protests we see in the US remotely resemble revolutions....they’re simply destructive.

Like the Tea Party?

When you make blanket statements such as “all protests” you lump BLM and the reason for the Second Amendment together.

Lets just say protests today are magnets for thugs and other nutcase to do exactly what we see them doing at protests.
