“Putin’s ‘peacekeeping’ Paras say they have the right to KILL”

Certainly beats our “Win their hearts and minds” orders when we go into other countries.

“It was a “mostly peaceful” protest.”

Yep, just a few peaceful people complaining about having to drop an extra dime to fill up their tanks and the HORRIBLE, EVIL, government opened fire on them.

Yep, no involvement by the West, nope, none at all.

Right.

“Careful, some on this board consider Putin to be the 2nd coming of Thomas Jefferson.”

Maybe not Jefferson, but he certainly LOVES HIS COUNTRY far more than the Democrats in power here, and does far more to protect his children there, while we’re surgically mutilating our children.

You have to think of Putin as a modern equivalent of the Czar. Almost none of them were ‘nice guys’ by modern standards. Like them he’s a Russian nationalist like them his goal is to advance the power, prestige & economics of Russia by hook or crook and if necessary, at all other nations expense (including us!). I can respect that! In fact, it’s refreshing it’s back to the ancient game of nations instead of exporting a secular religious ideology. We should go back to that ancient game and stop trying to make places like Afghanistan or Iraq like us. It took a long bloody painful history for the West and the USA to be like it is. That history & experience can’t be grafted onto alien societies. We need to learn that. We need to pull back our missionary zeal in exporting ‘democracy’, stop trying to do it. Putin’s Russia has no ideology to export any more, its goal is simple play the ancient game to be on top - increase national power. That should be our game too !

When he's not blowing up apartment buildings filled with Russians, or having Russians shot in the head, thrown from windows, or poisoned with Polonium 210 for the crime of exposing the crimes of the regime.

As a former para, you may deduce (correctly) that I am ALL about kicking your ever-loving ass UP into where the sun shall never shine, IF I am ever deployed into your extra shitty situation.

As I exit the plane (if air dropped) I will be concerned about two things: having enough ammo, and enough water. (and, being remotely close to the intended target)

Russia today is not the Soviet Union.

60-70% of government positions that can be filled with appointment are manned by former KGB and current FSB. The KGB/FSB also dominate the economy... and even the Russian Orthodox Church! With 100% of Russian priests in the hierarchy being hold overs from the KGB days with very large KGB files and documents on them for all their good work, such as Archbishop Kirill who was still spreading Liberation Theology as recently as 2009.

These criminals, liars, thieves and killers did not reform simply because the Soviet Union fell. In fact, they got even more powerful when it did!

You have to think of Putin as a modern equivalent of the Czar.

Only if the Czar is essentially a brutal KGB gangster who chooses his allies based on how anti-American and brutal they are, like North Korea and Iran.

I guess you’re not familiar with the Democrats then.

Well, when Democrats are laughing with glee when a conservative gets beaten up, they’re not pretending to “love America” when they do it. Why should we pretend a degenerate thug like Putin loves Russia? Because he comes out and gives medals to KGB Archbishops like Kirill to prove his religious bonafides? When he says pretty “traditionalist” sounding words? When he condemns homosexuality? Even the Chinese do that, because their people are so screwed up it has to be done. The Russians too, who have massive amounts of man on man rape in the Russian army amongst conscripts! And with only 7% of the population even attending church once a month, with massive amounts of corruption and degeneracy being the norm! And the REAL Christian churches, without the KGB leadership, harassed and persecuted throughout the country!

Just make sure to wash your hands before and after you get together with your Putinist buddies for another circle jerk. It’s not sanitary and you don’t want to weaken your immune system, or else you’ll die of the Flu or somethin and get added to the Covid stats.

The Czars had their KGB called the Okhrana. It assassinated, set bombs, did false flag operations throughout Europe and even in the US. Ivan the Terrible who had his “Black Riders” - Tolkien drew some inspiration from them, Peter the Great, Catherine the Great and others all bloodier in their rule then Putin. Not defending Putin just recognizing that he's not unique and recognizing what he is. As far as his KGB origins go mostly irrelevant, you could think of it as enabling him to be a self-made Czar. As far as his allies go Czars chose equally brutal allies if it was necessary to advance Russian power.

If our government fell today, whatever should take over would be swarming with our bureaucrats. To think that 60-to 70% of them would still be there after 30 years is ridiculous though. As for the Russian Orthodox Church, they actually had priests who were believers. I went to the funeral of one in 1990, that had been axed to death by a group called "Pomyat" because he was Jewish and was preaching the Gospel. I'm not sure which offended them more. You need to think of Russia as a Christian Empire, and Putin as Tsar. It's why our Democrat Communists hate Russia so much now.

Read "The Sword and the Shield" based on the KGB archives. There were true believers who refused to assist the KGB. All the Russian priests in any position of authority, however, were the exact opposite.

You need to think of Russia as a Christian Empire

You need Christians to have a Christian empire. All polls for the last decade up to recent years all show the same thing: only about 7%, sometimes going even lower than that, bother to attend once a month. Vast majority of Russians have no religious life whatsoever. Maybe we have a similar problem, though not anywhere close to the same scale.

But now is the time for Russia to grow into the size of the former Soviet Union and Putin can do it with Biden in the WH.

The latest US-NATO attempt to hurt Russia first and ultimately China through staging civil wars like in Libya and Syria.

This time the jihadists are hurting Russia and then moving on to wage war on the Chicoms in Xinjiang IMHO if the US-NATO Islamists can conquer Kazakhstan.
