Maybe on a full 100% charge, but getting the last 10% of charge takes as much time and energy as the first 90%...so I’ve heard.
Charging to 100% on a regular basis significantly reduces the life of the battery and running down close to zero does too.
Take any advertised range and figure a maximum of 80% of that, and that assumes you aren’t using heat or AC.
Wonder how many electrics are being towed home from the snowstorm in DC?
I have been reading Teslas getting 80% charge in 15 minutes and the remainder in 1 hour. Try that with a wife and kids on a hot day.
Some of the frozen batteries in electric cars in the Virginia snowstorm gridlock this past week quickly degraded and then went dead at the wrong time. Didn’t look good.
