Lots of predictions here, quite interesting and as always - 'we shall see'. Good food for thought whether you agree or disagree with individual pieces.

Obviously the author doesn’t understand that if Trump runs and remains a FL resident, he cannot pick Ron DeSantis. Trump would have to change his residency before running.

Trump Palin ticket sounds good to me...
Palin is the ONLY reason I voted that year.

Everybody leave DeSantis alone in Fla where he continues to have national impact.
When, not if, he runs it will be for all the marbles, imo.

Looks like a lot of wild speculation. The Sarah Palin item is laughable. Her political career was over the moment her family train wreck got dragged out into public view.

Palin is not a viable presidential candidate for 2024. Jeesh!

I will boldly predict that most if his predictions won’t come true.

I don’t know why so many people here on FR act like Trump is incapable of changing his official state of residency between now and next week — let alone by 2024.

That is simply not true. The only problem with picking a VP from the same state as the POTUS candidate is that you want the POTUS and VP to each carry a state. If they are from the same state, their candidacy only carries their state. I don't know where the misconception came from, but it is not true.

Anti-Vax Anti-Trump wishful thinking. What truth by the end of 2022?

Even if some truth comes out that we didn't already know. Trump acknowledges when he has made a mistake. He'll simply acknowledge the new truth and that it was a mistake and the base will stay with him.

Did Trump officially change his residence to Florida? I knew that he left NY but did not know he made the citizenship change.

My late brother thought McCain choosing Palin was a major mistake. I reminded him that the only time McCain led in the poles was right after he chose Palin. Didn't last long though.

Palin? Not a chance. Her political office days are permanently behind her. That ended when she resigned as Governor. The author of this piece made some good points but is politically clueless if she thinks Palin could be elected. First off, Palin herself knows she ended here career when she resigned and thus will never even think about it. Even if she did voters will never support someone who walked away from their elected office especially when deciding for the office of the Presidency.

“That wildcard is Sarah Palin.”

Only two at this point. Trump and Desantis.

DeSantis will be 50 years old and 2028 will be the PERFECT year for him to seize power, I mean get elected :-) to the Presidency after two terms of the Golden Age of Florida.

Article II of the Constitution:

The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.

There’s some question about whether this is even applicable anymore since the 12th amendment was ratified and the process for electing Presidents and VPs changed, but based on the plain language of this provision it seems that a Florida elector in 2024 could not vote for both Trump and DeSantis on the same ticket.

This issue was enough of a concern in 2000 that Dick Cheney changed his residence from Texas to Wyoming before he was named as GWB’s running made.

Her political career was probably finished when she accepted the VP spot (really McCain’s only option to have a chance) instead of completing her first term and a second term as Alaska’ governor. In retrospect, she would have been positioned quite well for a 2016 run.

NOTE: McCain made the right decision to pick her but he would have destroyed her future if he became POTUS by his more moderate to left neocon policies.

I had to take a shower and de-louse myself after voting for McCain.

Too bad you can't vote for President and Vice President separately.
