I am unsurprised.

The fire departments in are region are exemplifying domino outbreaks as well.

My favorite line; “exemplifying domino outbreaks”. Reads like a line of dialog from “Idiocracy”.

My teachers used “awk construction” and (my favorite) “turgid” a lot.
This letter is horribly written, overwrought, and just plain pathetic, not to mention full of hysteria and unfounded fears.

The author simply cannot write stating-forward, clear sentences. She is a horrible writer. But she does know how to clutch pearls.

The mom who marked up this letter missed ALOT of mistakes. She also made some mistakes with her “corrections”.
She must have never heard on an Oxford comma.
She also failed to cross out extraneous language, and failed to properly point out the use of excessively dire words.
My favorite guide to writing is Strunk and Whites “Elements of Style”. It’s the best short book for improving anyone’s writing for proper grammar and brevity.
I’m 68 and still use it on occasions.

Comedian Marsha Warfield used to include the following in her stand-up routine:
“I went to public school in Detroit. I got a good education. For example, I learned to various conjugations of the verb ‘to be.’
I be.
He be.
She be.
We be.”

This letter is horribly written, overwrought, and just plain pathetic, not to mention full of hysteria and unfounded fears. It takes a lot of words to obfuscate the actual message, "It's better for us when we get paid to teach from home."

A more accurate critique of the subject letter would be to type it as presented in an MS Word document, and again in a Google document, and see what the software editors would highlight as spelling or syntax errors. The author of the document may just have relied too heavily on technology to catch those mistakes and offer corrections.
And we know the draft would not have bene done in cursive.
