Should non-golfers care?
Well, wouldn’t break my heart if they turned Pebble Beach into something like that, lol, as it is such an impossible course even for the pros.
While they are losing population? Why not wait until the existing housing becomes affordable?
TRANSLATION:
Private golf club dues to quadruple, to keep the ‘trash’ out....................
So, all those unfortunates who purchased homes surrounding the golf course are now screwed, blued, and tattooed. Oh well, pretty much CA resident is in the same situation.
Oh, except illegal aliens.
Give us a call with all CA Democrats are rounded up and disposed of.
By the end of the day, the sponsors of this bill will be screaming and frantically back-pedaling. When there are no wokeness points to be scored, initiatives like this disappear fast.
If they voted Rat, then they get what they deserve.
I really enjoy playing golf. It’s likely I’ll never set foot in California again, and not just because of this.
The left hates golf, it’s a use of land of which they don’t approve. Golf is a quality of life issue. The more activities a municipality offers, the higher the quality of life. Somehow, building a bunch of low rent homes, squeezed together, and not maintained, doesn’t seem to add to quality of life.
It seems every day I get another reason to be glad I’m not going to be around a lot longer.
Well, they croaked the tourist trade so who wants to go THERE anyway?
The expensive, private courses will still remain open for Greasy Gav and his cronies to play on, courtesy of their wealthy donors.
However all of the middle-class white duffers of more modest means who use municipal courses will have to find another pastime. Perhaps doing their penance in a homeless soup kitchen
Well, I think I’d care if I were a suburban homeowner. Nice place, across the street from a big green space. Now they’re going to build a crime-ridden slum there
The canker in this rose is that the “affordable housing” never remains affordable for long. Sure, a few people enjoy the amenities of better living for a while, but in almost no time at all, these become untenable slums, rife with crime and drugs, and a hellhole only slightly above a tent city set up on city parks.
Does nobody remember the “affordable hosing (er, housing)” of the 1960’s, and the urban ruins they became by 1980? Many of them had to be demolished, and high-rise, high-rent, upscale condominiums replaced them.
Doesn’t matter if you golf or not. When these open spaces are gone, they are gone.
Non golfers should definitely care because MANY, MANT of these golf courses have very high end neighborhoods built around them, THIS is their way of destroying GREAT neighborhoods!! Property values in these neighborhoods with million dollar homes around these golf courses will plummet!! I am in Ca. I just moved from the beach area to the desert because the homeless situation in beach areas has become so filthy and crime ridden I didn’t feel safe anymore!! There was also one of these municipal golf courses there too!! Got the hell out of there just in a nick of time looks like, so NOW not only will the beach be a mess with homeless tents everywhere the golf course will be turned into the hood OMG!!
DemocRATS...... F’k America!
Sure-—the prices of property on/near a golf course are much higher. NOW-—WELCOME to the Calif GHETTOS.
**Should non-golfers care?**
No.
The average golf course gets doused with pesticides and commercial fertilizers at least a couple times a month. The course maintenance routine makes the average grain farmer look like an environmental extremist.
I’ve worked in both industries, so go ahead golfers, make my day.
