I have said this many times, but it bears repeating: the shutdown policies that have devastated the lives of our children and young people were not just a blunder, but a crime. Jan Crawford of CBS put it well this morning on Face the Nation:
“They will be paying for our generation’s decisions the rest of their lives”: @JanCBS explains why she thinks 2021's biggest underreported story was the devastating impact of COVID policies on children pic.twitter.com/AUU1f6AFNi

Heck, the point is so obvious that even the New York Times might be catching on:
High schoolers across the U.S. have reported some of the most alarming mental health declines, evidenced by depression and suicide attempts. Adolescents have failed classes critical to their futures at higher rates than in previous years. https://t.co/qAHy2ab728

In my opinion, the various governments’ responses to the covid epidemic represented the worst failure of public policy in the U.S. since (at least) the Vietnam War. And a number of other countries did even worse.
Florida schools in Sarasota only did virtual learning for two months...
One silver lining is that many parents finally realized what their children were being taught.
Also, those who mocked online “University of Phoenix” now have to admit they’ve paid a hell of a lot more for the same thing.
Indeed.
Parents making kids wear masks are child abusers.
Thee are those who have taken action:
Nice; thanks for sharing!
I have to say that Jan Crawford (CBS) did a great job of encapsulating the issue.
It’s time to indict everyone in a “teacher’s union” for child abuse and molestation of children. Until the bastards in the “teacher’s unions” came along, children KNEW what gender they were. They didn’t need pedophile ***holes to help them figure it out.
Agreed but totalitarian government threatens private schools with fines or even closures. It really is a case of the slow boiling of the frog.
In Virginia, we voted in a republican governor who has stated he will lift the school mask mamdate. However, he only won by 60K+ votes. 1.6 million democrat taliban party voters still demanded the use of government to continue abusing children.
Democrat taliban party voters are 100% to blame for government enforced child abuse.
I work in psychiatry, seeing young kids and teens all day. Wholeheartedly agree. Also just gotta love the parents who decide to up and divorce in the middle of it all, further scarring and damaging their kids. I just want to clobber these dolts.
It’s seriously affected their teachers as well, and still does.
Great article - recommended reading for all interested in quality schools.
Who cares about the children? Frail 90 year old grandmas are the foundation of the future of society!
That is such a great story. Thank you for posting that article about the rural CO private school.
God bless these proactive parents and community members…putting their time, experience and other investments to work, for these kids.
Unlike the left…who lie and claim “it’s for the children”, when it obviously is not.
Ping.
disclaimer...I am 68...
never in the history of the world have the older generations been so little caring about their children's or grandchildren's future....
we used to want a legacy for our children...
fine
but in reality
the people in power have done this, mostly boomers, who ironically were the most anti-establishment generation when THEY were younger
and its not just to kids
they’ve destroyed the elderly, taken them zway from their families by murdering them with lethal policies and deadly shots
they’ve taken away moms and dads from their families
they have taken away friends from so many people
there must be a nuremburg ii and massive judgment against these murderers
In my town, the Karen’s screamed louder and got their way - shut everything down was their only answer. The Town big mouths still won’t let things get back to normal. Face Masks for the kids, social distancing, threats of lock downs, etc.
It’s too bad I never had children.
If I had they would have the advantage of my genetics, good looks, I.Q. and a competitive field that is intellectually and spiritually malnourished.
No contest...
