Yes, I couldn’t agree more.
I think that when there is an incomplete data set and I have to make a decision sometimes extrapolation and interpolation is necessary to complete. For me, the conditions are:
- I’m doing the interpolating.
- I’m doing the extrapolating.
- I’m making the decision.
If someone wants to help me complete that data set, as you say... burden of proof is theirs - no faith here. And NO ONE, especially not some troll on the interwebs cares more about me and my family than me. So the burden of proof is extraordinarily high.

This has been my approach with pro vaxx relatives.
I just keep telling them “chill out, this will be over soon enough. Life will go on....”
I don’t think they actually believe me, but it does calm them down for a few minutes at least.
