Is the man who wanted Donald Trump to declare martial law prepping for some American Armageddon? Or is he doing something more subtle that the press is missing entirely?
Apocalypse Now played on my iPod as my flight lifted off from Arkansas. Watching Willard cruise up the river to kill Kurtz for most of the flight put me in the right frame of mind on the long arc that took me over Mississippi (state and river), Alabama, Florida, and Joe and Mika’s house with its conveniently attached Morning Joe studio garage on the Atlantic Coast.
I pulled a manila envelope from my leather attaché case to review the dossier. Any good operator does his homework. I’d been gathering yarn on Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, U.S. Army (Retired), for years. The General occupied two chapters of a book I published in 2019, American Cipher: Bowe Bergdahl and the US Tragedy in Afghanistan. And that was from the time before he got really interesting. I fiddled with the miniature Combat Infantryman Badge pinned to the lapel of my seersucker suit before descent into Miami and a low flyover of the Trump National Doral Golf Club, my home for the next two days. The internet told me I was going to the worst place in the world. And I didn’t even know it yet.
Weeks before and hundreds of miles to the west, my nephew drove me to a megachurch, a local guide helping me chart the river of American crazy that snaked through the culture war like a central circuit. Dream City Church sits between Lookout Mountain and Shadow Mountain. Twitter told me Mike Flynn was totally insane, driven lewanáy (the Pashto word) by the FBI, operating out of Sarasota without any decent restraint, that his methods had become …

It’s irritating. I’m sure there are lots of good details in there that I would like to read, details that give you color about what’s happening that you can’t find anywhere else.
The problem is the details are literally drowning in all that clutter, which I assume is supposed to make the writer appear well read, witty and provide humor.
Reading the clutter gives me the same sensation as does eating ice cream too fast.
Re: 10 - No, that can’t. But I will bet you or anyone that there will not be martial law deals are nationwide by the 2022 elections in November.
I don't think they'll try martial law. It's unnecessary with the DOJ and FBI willing to be the Sword and Shield of the Party they can just criminalize political opposition as a "threat to democracy," which what all this week's messaging has been about. Expect a lot of "lawfare" where leftists sue the DOJ over "voter rights" and the DOJ caves to get a court order implementing restrictions on gerrymandering (only in Republican controlled states), more bogus indictments of Republican politicians and smear campaigns like the one against Matt Goetz, more interference from the tech lords and big banks yanking services from Republicans, etc., etc.
They have a thousand small levers of coercion they can pull. Better for them to use that than risk an open revolt.
Bingo.

Au contraire. Yes it is a long read and it is often hard to distinguish truth from hyperbole/theater, but I did get some of the references, especially the “Apocalypse Now” references/comparisons.
It was light hearted with some facts. Distinguishing fact from fiction was nearly impossible.
BUT, if anyone “nailed” you on the facts, you could just say it was fiction/hyperbole, who could tell?
I found it fun and enlightening. (choosing for myself which things to believe).
I thought the article “excellent”! FUN! Something rare in the “new normal COVID era. (It IS becoming an era)
era:
“3. The longest division of geologic time, made up of one or more periods.”
That guy sure likes himself. And that was way too much BS for his point. He needs an editor.
All of that is true, but I recall it only took a few tens of thousands of manufactured votes in a handful of city-states to turn the 2020 election.
So far I see none of what made that possible in those specific areas has changed since.
Skipped to the end. God that was bad
I tried to read that but there was too much stupidity, gave up.
So perhaps the Gerald Ford in my tagline will be hillary.
I just tried to read this article.
The author is high on something and cannot write.
More like he rambles and jumps all over the place.
I completely disregard whatever the hell he is trying to say
You are correct. They will do whatever it takes to keep republicans out of power.
Yes I painstakingly read the whole article. Matt Farwell comes so close to understanding what is happening. At one point he says “still a part of me thinks that Flynn’s got everyone so wigged in their heads that they’re shadow boxing with a version of the General that doesn’t exist”. Then in the end he basically shakes his head and says “ naw”.
What person who just wrote 2-3 paragraphs on the extensive intelligence genius and expertise of Michael Flynn would ever believe that he allowed two gumshoe FBI retards to trick him into getting caught lying to them. Its laughable on its face.
General Flynn is playing his part in the takedown of the deepstate. Misdirection is part of the game. He’s not running for President he’s doing the job Trump hired him for. Its been a long game.
“”I used to wonder where h*tler found people willing to k*ll for him.
Today’s liberals seem like they would be gleefully willing to.””
.
Yep.

Have you not been playing attention to the attempted purge of any even slightly right-leaning people? The question is, are there enough patriots remaining in the military to resist unlawful orders?
Warriors won’t cease to be warriors because they’re kicked out of the military. They’ll just become the left’s worst nightmare.
Damn right - sh*t piece full of lies...what does this guy do - check Tuckers underwear every night? I know he sure wishes he could - a gay guy surely in a love-(hate) relationship with him!
Flynn isn’t all that smart - he talked to the FBI without legal counsel being present. Unless as you suggest, Flynn acting that recklessly was all part of the rope-a-dope strategy.
