Where’s me grant money?
“...sea levels to raise at least a foot in the next decade...”
A boon for shipping and Global Commerce.
Or not.
Obama better move then.
I’m guessing these “scientists “ all wear bow ties and have no degree in anything scien-cy
When the climate terrorsts like Obama, Gore, Biden et el stop flying in private jets and downsizing their 40,000 + homes on the beach, I’ll listen to them.
Until then, blah, blah, blah, blah ...
Summer in Antarctica
Not hard to imagine. Hillary collapsed and raised Trumps poll numbers 10 points plus. Getting to close to either Hillary or the ocean could probably give you crabs.
There is a hydraulic calculation somewhere based on the entire oceanfront footage (really mileage) that would be effected with rising water of 1 foot of ocean. A better way to put it is similar to the calculation (available on any water management district’s website) on how many gallons of water it would take to raise the level of a body of water, say, a lake for example 6 inches.
The entire surface area of the world which is covered with seawater, ocean water is very large. Incorporate that number into the water rise calculations and one can derive how much water that would be. Then compare that to the amount of glacial ice these idiots are saying is collapsing into the ocean. It cannot even begin to approach the amount of water, in cubic miles, it would take to raise all the oceans of the world ... a foot. (oh yeah, they said “at least” a foot.
Not possible in other words for this to happen.
Check the bank accounts of everyone spouting this nonsense.
Now I’m kinda rooting for climate change. If it kills off just one socialist, it may be worth it.
Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century. As the chart shows most of that rise was over about 8k years ago.
From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.
The most recent data from NASA shows a decline in sea level.
Inconvenient: NASA shows global sea level…pausing, instead of rising
I’ll start worrying about rising sea levels when the rich sell their beach front homes for pennies on the dollar.
Strangely though, beachfront homes in places like Martha’s Vineyard, the Hamptons and Malibu will continue to increase in value.
Bulldogs overheat easily.
The water will be pushing into the mantel
So will anybody fact check this codswallop in 10 to 20 years?
No.
This is why I like having homes on hills.
Let’s pay taxes for a lotta super glue to keep that ice from drowning Florida.
