First off- I detest basketball and the NBA but it is funny in the midst of all this omicron hysteria and on the heels of the majority of players in the NFL telling their union the want all covid protocols dropped, the Nets are now allowing Irving to take the road with them.

Kyrie claimed he wanted to be a “voice for the voiceless” for those who have lost their jobs due to vaccine mandates. Not sure if that is just an excuse, but if it isn’t, good for him. Unfortunately, I’m not sure it has changed the situation much for others.

Can de Blasio get involved here? How dare this team disobey his edicts. First, the player, now the company. What an outrage.

He’s still not playing in NY, so he isn’t breaking any rules elsewhere.

“players lost to health and safety protocols”
Meaning they have COVID even though they’re vaxxed.

I haven’t been paying attention & didn’t know this ... glad to see it. Gradually (very) the ‘situation’ with COVID is starting to ‘turn”. Every degree is a victory ... as someone said (Australian - some people there ARE trying to resist the tyranny) “STAND THE F**K UP!

The media gave him tons of coverage when they were speculating about when he would eventually give in for the money. Once it was evident he was sticking true to his word, he conspicuously dropped off the media radar.

A notable dynamic: Sources say the NFLPA has received feedback that a majority of players want to eliminate COVID protocols altogether. No more testing, quarantining, etc. That sentiment isn’t shared by union leadership, which has continued to advocate for daily testing.

If I were with another team, I’d offer the Nets a player who was only half as good but was “fully vaccinated”.

In the past five days alone, 151 NFL players — about 6% of the league — tested positive for COVID-19. But the league says a significant majority are asymptomatic. As Dr. Allen Sills said, it’s a new phase.

Oh for crying out loud ... DAILY testing? What ‘maroons’. The players should just revolt.

When it starts to involve the big-money gambling organizations, like with the NFL, it might get a serious review.

I lost interest when I realized that travelling was no longer called. I’ll take this man over most, though. ANd for an unusual first name, it’s kind of cool.

Funny how Kyrie, who refused to be vaccinated, is the healthiest member of the Nets right now..he should come out and say “Yeah I told you all so”
