Poll: Trump-Backed David Perdue Takes Commanding Lead Over Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in Primary

ATLANTA, Georgia — Former Sen. David Perdue (R-GA), who is backed by former President Donald Trump in his gubernatorial bid, holds a sizable lead early in his campaign over Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a poll from Trump’s pollster Tony Fabrizio provided exclusively to Breitbart News shows.

The headline of the polling memo—“Perdue Primed to Defeat Kemp”—says it all. “We found that incumbent Governor Brian Kemp has overstayed his welcome with the Republican electorate and a plurality back another candidate, chiefly David Perdue,” the polling memo states. “Furthermore, President Trump’s endorsement of Sen. Perdue serves to further solidify his advantage over Brian Kemp.

In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup with Kemp, Perdue already leads 47 percent to 44 percent with 9 percent undecided.

When survey respondents are informed that Trump has endorsed Perdue, that lead skyrockets to a 22 percent advantage for Perdue—with Perdue at 56 percent and Kemp at just 34 percent and 10 percent undecided.

A hypothetical full ballot question where respondents are told of Trump’s endorsement of Perdue and where former Democrat state Sen. Vernon Jones—who switched parties and joined the GOP over Trump—as well other candidates Kandiss Taylor and Jonathan Garcia remain in the race, Perdue still leads Kemp by sizable double-digit margins. In that scenario, Perdue is at 46 percent and Kemp is at 32 percent—a 14 point lead for Perdue—while Jones is at 9 percent, Taylor at 2 percent, and Garcia at less than a percent while 11 percent are undecided.

I wonder what polling would say about a head to head race between Perdue and Stacy Abrams.

Georgia has a stupid system that cost Purdue a Senate seat.

Purdue won on Nov 3, 2020 but had to run again in January.WTF?

If you keep letting democrats have never ending elections, don’t be surprised by the results.

I don;t like Perdue at all. He is weak and I don’t think he can beat Abrahms. He will just fold again when they steal it

Look-I don’t like Perdue-same as the rest of you. Understand that rino Governors are not as bad as a rino senator-think DeWine. Perdue gets the nomination and then it’s up to the voters to put Abrams in her place. It’s should not be a fight between 2 blacks. The lines should be drawn and it’s about race make the democrats bring up the issue.

Perdue based his entire Senate reelection campaign on Trump’s endorsement. So this run is just piggy backing on that money spent. The question is if that will be enough to keep Abrams out of the GA governors mansion.

I wish Doug Collins would reconsider and throw his hat in the ring.

Does anyone know why the President endorse Perdue over Vernon Jones? The few times I’ve seen/heard Vernon speak he has sounded good, and sincere. From a few thousand miles away (California) it seemed like Vernon was fighting the Georgia voter fraud, while Perdue was ignoring it.

I like Purdue but I’m from Oregon, so I couldn’t vote for him.

I think having to get 50% of the vote in 2021 America is wishful thinking.

Why was there a run off in January?

Trump was here for a rally and so was Jones and Trump didn’t endorse him then. He is a dynamite speaker but has a lot of baggage and perhaps is just an opportunist.

Perdue is a joke that lost to some little twerp who looks like pajama boy. He even was afraid to debate him. I cannot believe this has been is about to give my State Gov. Abrams. He is worthless.

State law that was passed about 10 years ago or so. The law specifies the winning candidate needs to have 50% plus 1. I don’t know why the legislature felt the need for a majority vote.

Democrats that turn Republican always sound good but taste bad. Case in point Nathan “Raw” Deal.

Thanks Georgia Girl 2. I was afraid that might have been the case. Vernon Jones sounded solid when I saw/heard him on the TV, but I agree being a Dem in the recent past is not a good pedigree.

I can’t believe some baught the Kemp claim that Perdue lost to some idiot.

Perdue LOST IN THE SAME ELECTION THAT SAW ALL THE CRUMMY FRAUDS THAT WERE PUT IN PLACE BY THE IGNOMINIOUS STACY ABRAMS.

IT WAS NOT A FAIR FIGHT PEOPLE.

Goodbye Kemp.

His head along with Ratburger’s and the horrid Lt. Governor’s will make nice trophies to mount on our victory wall after the next election. They can join Liz Cheney, the rest of the 10, and Lisa Murkowsky.

Well you are right about Perdue. When a RINO loses a Senatorial race in GA you know its a rigged election.
