Newsom pledged on Saturday to empower private citizens to enforce a ban on the manufacture and sale of assault weapons in the state

•He cited he would use the same authority claimed by conservative lawmakers in Texas to outlaw most abortions once a heartbeat is detected

•'If states can now shield their laws from review by the federal courts... then California will use that authority to protect people's lives, where Texas used it to put women in harm's way,' Newsom said

•Texas Republicans passed a banning abortions around six weeks into pregnancy

•Law allows private citizens to enforce the ban by suing abortion clinics and anyone who 'aids and abets' with the procedure

•The 6-3 conservative majority Supreme Court upheld this law in a Friday ruling

Roe v Wade is not a Constitutional Amendment.

What a dumba**. The right to keep and bear arms is actually IN the constitution. The right to an abortion is not.

That attempt will fail miserably.

Dear Gov. Newsom:

Helpless infants in the womb are little threat to the Great Rulers, like you.

The same evaluation is unlikely to apply to irate gun owners, backed by the US Constitution.

Think carefully...

The sloppiness of all media in reporting legal issues all the time is breathtaking. The Supreme Court did NOT “uphold the ban.” They ruled that the administration did not have standing to challenge the ban and specially said that the constitutionality of the statute was not before the court at this time.

The first problem is the “right to bear arms” is actually in our Bill of Rights. The right to kill babies was never written in to our Constitution or provided in the Bill of Rights or as an amendment to our Constitution. Someone stop feeding this fool bowls of Stupid for breakfast. There is no comparison to abortion and the right to bear arms in the laws of our country.

This is just hors d’oeuvres for the lunatic leftists to take away attention from Gavin’s miserable failure as Governor.

Oh good. His efforts will bear fruit when the remaining conservatives in his kakistocracy leave. At which point none of us will much care.

“Newsom pledged on Saturday to empower private citizens to enforce a ban on the manufacture and sale of assault weapons in the state”

Newsom’s comment raises the two-cent conservative conundrum, namely: if you could change the trajectory of California by making a two-cent cash donation, knowing you could never get your money back, would you do it?

If so, why?

The U.S. Supreme Court has already outlawed laws like this all over the country. He is just wasting taxpayer’s money. What an ass!

Glock, S&W and others manufacturers need to stop selling any guns or parts for existing guns to Commiefornia. Inform thier distributors of the same policy. No sales to california.

There is a differene. The RKBA shall not be infringed. That wording is absolute. It means shall not be infringed by the government or by private citizens. There is nothing in the Constitution about abortion and its infringement.

I guess Noose-em doesn’t understand the meaning of “Shall not be infringed.”

Gavin, like so many Collectivists on so many issues, is unable to see the flaws in his analogy.

Don’t encourage anyone in California to leave. They bring the same bad judgment with them wherever they go.

I respectfully disagree. People are going to leave regardless. Who we want and need are the conservatives. Target them.
